It is the month of birthdays it seems for these hot mod ladies!!  By the next Wednesday chat, I will also be older!  *throws confetti*  Ah, I am slowly creeping into COUGAR AGE.  However, I have been informed by my other gay ladyfriends that we are called...."lezgers."  I don't even know, guys.  I don't even know.  Anyway.

Nimsy, I'm sure you're ( Read more... )

IRL, I have a hard time telling people I don't like them - if I don't like a person, I just ignore that person, and we become acquaintances, are polite with each other, but are not friends. That's how I am with reviews, too - if I don't like a story, I will not leave reviews. If I like it, I will flail all over it like nobody's business. XD

I just read omizu's post and she has some awesome points. Those are good pointers/reminders on how to give proper construction criticism.

I've had my share of flamers/trolls who tell me that my story is not good, it sucks, I should just stop writing because I'm not good at it, etc, etc...I don't let it bother me. It used to bother me before (especially when I received my first one years ago), but I realized that not everyone is going to love your writing (or drawing, if that's the case), and in the first place, you should be writing for yourself (writing for enjoyment, for fun, for improving your skills) - readers liking your stories is just an added bonus. I appreciate positive reviews, take note of constructive criticism for future use, and just ignore the flamers - mostly anonymous flamers, I might add. But yeah, I also ignore non-anonymous flamers. Replying to them just adds a lot of drama.

P.S. "Quite easily, actually."

Cool response, Ali. :)

There's something wrong with them if they don't like your work.

I'm the same way! If I have a choice of ignoring and moving on, or creating drama, you bet I'll choose the former. Especially fandom. I come to fandom when I want a break from real life's stress. I don't need to turn to even more stress.

Cool response, Ali. :)

Oh shush, you. <3

I tend to ignore people I don't like as well. I just don't like confrontation. :\ And if I can avoid it I'm going to. LOL

Exactly how I feel. If someone doesn't like something I've written then they can feel free to move on. I'm not forcing them to sit there and read it. ^_^

Same for me. Confrontation makes my knees tremble, not kidding. I'm not good at it. XD

Yup. Making people feel bad by leaving nasty comments just isn't the way to go. :(

I wish that was my excuse... but truth is I don't want to put forth an effort to really fight/argue with someone. (even though I really do like to argue a lot with friends... but like with coworkers and strangers... meh)

I have to agree. It's rather pointless. That's why I wish more people would just not care about flamers and trolls.

I argue with friends. :D It's actually pretty fun arguing with friends, because you know they won't be sensitive about it.

But they pretty much exist, anyway. Sigh. So it's best to ignore them and not feed them the attention they want.

Exactly! And I can argue like nobody's business about ANYTHING. lol

*nodnod* That's sound advice.

I concur with Juni - I love your work.
Something is definitely wrong with these flamers.
