Lord Byron. I think one of my favorite poems would have to be his 'She Walks in Beauty' The next would be Maya Angelou's 'Phenomenal Woman' OH! I don't remember what the title was but there was this one where he(?) says:

"Do not go into that good, good night.
Rage, Rage against the dying of the light."

Ah, and there was this one...I'm sad to say I can't remember it but I got into an argument with someone about the meaning of it. Jerk had the nerve to assume that I quoted the poem that didn't know what it meant. (I'm sneering at the memory)

The truth is I love poetry. I adored reading poetry. Even now my brain keeps filling with lines that I just loved from this person and that. I used to write it all the time. It was my passion. In fact, writing fiction was a pale second to my poetry. I have books and books filled with the stuff I used to write.

Sadly, though, I really don't write poetry anymore. I have to force myself to write the few things that I do. In fact, I think about four or five months ago I wrote the first poem I had in years. Unforturatunely my muse died a horrible death. It was hit by a bus that backed up and ran over him. Got out the bus kicked him, stomped on him, got back in the bus drove over him and went on his merry way. So I'm thinking there's not much hope reviving him.

That would be Dylan Thomas! He wrote the poem for his father, who was on his deathbed at the moment. I believe it was meant as an encouragement for his father to cling on to life and not give in so easily. Whatever the true meaning, you chose a really fabulous poem to quote.

And ouch. I feel sorry for your poor, abused muse. D:
