Yesterday Renato gave a job-interview for jobs in either Dublin or London.
- later on that evening it made me travel back into memory-lane..
in 2005 I was given the opportunity to take a part of my apprenticeship in Cork, Ireland.
3 months of living and working in Ireland!
The first month I lived in Bandon, a small town just north from Cork.
Here I had to take a 3 weeks mandatory english-course.
It was great. class it self was just 3 hours a day.
But the living in that little town was awesome!
I shared house with people from Germany and Italy, and made specially good friends with the german girl.
- and since 2 of my best friends from norway also lived in Bandon due to the same project, we hung out..
Drank beer, got high, just living life. In Ireland.
can't explain it - It was just a very good period for me!
After 3 weeks I got a job at Triskel Art Center in Cork.
I had accommodation in a "huge" house just 25min walk from the citycentre where Triskel was posted.
I lived there first with just many french people - made good friends with a french girl there then.
Later on they moved out and in came italian and spanish men. all men =P
in the beginning i was kind of thrilled.. But I learned fast the downside of living with men that comes from a culture where mama does everything..
I could tell of many a incidents..
One of the guys, Alfonzo from Italy, we became kind of friends in the first period. we traveled to Kilarny and Dublin together.
was nice =)
I was happy in Ireland
I loved waking up
I loved walking in to the city to go working.
I had to walk through the whole big shopping street on my way to my job, and I loved the fact that I learned to know the faces of the people minding their own business walking to their job.
it was nice
I was sick a lot when living in Ireland though..
The dampness of the country made me very ill.
I went back and forth to the doctor. mostly it was chaughing. but it seemed like the one thing just got followed by another thing.
I had to go to the hospital for my lounges and that is where it was discovered that I had the asthma. not just a little. I had a meeeean asthma to.
Doctor gave me 2 different kinds of medicine for use everyday. told me to take this strong and big dose of it for a while. to kind of knock it back. he also advised me to stop smoking..
and I did quit - 4 months after I quit =)
(Yeah I take now and then a cigarette when drinking - bit since I don't drink very often it doesn't kill me)
mmm..
I would love moving back to Ireland.
Living there with my man.
In a country i could understand!
- oh my GOD i would give a lot to UNDERSTAND!
lol
