Being this worn out this early in the holiday season is worrying. And yes, it is the holiday season already--Macy's has had trees for a month, we've had advent calendars almost as long, and last night the mall put up the decorations. The reaction of every staff member was exactly the same: "no, no, no, no..." The greater problem is how hectic things are going to get in December, when our daily sales goals would rank The Deathly Hallows release day as "average". Now, I can handle one day of thousands of people clamoring for wizardly adventures, but every day of the week? This is going to hurt.
Oh, and there is no recession. There isn't. We're still up on last year. We're still beating our goals. The mall is as busy as ever, and every store is humming. And the economy usually swings upward after an election, as a big chunk of uncertainty is washed away. So, after Obama is in and the Democrats have a huge lead in Congress, the crowds will increase.
Eh. I'm feeling old and crotchety and tired. I may have a more informational post sometime soon.
