Wow, two updates in a month! Next thing you know, I'll be back to daily! (Yeah, right.)
Anyway, the New Jersey/New York trip went well. Didn't really do a whole lot besides visit old friends and do some touristy things in the city. I almost got to see Conan, but our family was just behind the cut-off. The biggest thing for me was realizing how much I missed the place. Not the city, so much, but New Jersey. It hasn't changed at all since I've left, except maybe some improvement in the local economy. Sandy Hook is the same as it ever was, but with more footwash stations, so that makes it even better. I wish I could have had much longer than a week there.
This upcoming work week looks to be hellish. We're behind--way behind. I will be lucky if I get away with a five-day week; it's almost certainly going to have to be six days this week, with no overtime for the salary man. I'm going to need another vacation already.
Next month will see me heading off for a training seminar in Chicago. This will be my first big official event as a manager, so I have to do my best. My potential for advancement within the company will be assessed, so I have to make the best impression I can. So that means back to student mode. Yay. At least I get free room and board, and payment for my travels. Maybe I could make the journey by driving through New Jersey?
