The universe is different from the Miami Vice CI one .

You don't really think if I have a choice I'd let slip the opportunity to create a universe where it is TRADITION for every male character to wear his hair long and wield a sword instead of a gun, do you? XD That was my first desert code, actually. Thou shalt not cut thy hair!!! And really, swords and arrows, horses and armors and then yards and yards of fabric to dress them in, why do people even write stories set in such ugly modern times I will never understand! (You can tell I would be drawing this rather than writing it if I could!)

I don't think there will ever be a series that I love more than Basara in anything I ever read or watch (the series destroyed me as I read it and always left me in awe of her skills at character development which is probably the best I have ever seen in any manga genre, or novels, IMO), so even though I haven't really thought of doing this, it may have just been my need to go back to that world again. But I will admit to creating Hasheem, over my Ageha-obsession (and you will see some resemblance here and there), but he will turn out to be quite different in personality and in the role he plays.

I'm glad you were not put off at the fact that I had to start when they were teens. But I want you to know that it's purely because you're around pinching me with your "charming daddies" creation that makes you responsible for every chapter I waste time writing old (charming) men and daddies. The weird thing is, I enjoyed - and tend to do better - writing these chapters containing these sick bastard old men with issues the most!! It's all your fault *pouts* And I expect you to be here holding my hand along the way when I start writing all the Yuris and Valdimirs. So please don't go anywhere.

Yes, let’s stick together under animal skin is so one of them. Big-ass Wolf pelt robe is another. Then you also have the Pet bird (of prey), rescue from horseback (or picking flowers from horseback), skinning a deer (another hot papa scene), stuck in a cave together, and of course, that drop dead gorgeous shot of a long haired warrior unsheating a long sword. I can go on and on and on truly.

Actually horses are named quite simply. :) And I really wanted to gove Hasheem a wolf and the young prince a hawk or an eagle but now that you said it, let’s give my darling Hasheem a bird of prey (I’m actually very temped to remove his eye or arm TBH. A perfect man should never have all his limbs lol).

Omg you just made my day! I loved Silver Diamond, especially the Rapunzel part, I nearly cried. I’ve been trying to remember the name of the series for ages!! Gotta read that again Kyahhhh

But I don’t like reptiles!

Cobra, kouji, Oberstein, Ageha, yes but the real influence really were the pirates in Kawaso Masumi’s Saradinasa. Her father lost an eye and her man lost an arm. Both of them turned into one scary SOB right after losing those body parts. They sort of needed something cut off before they kick ass. Lol I’ve loved that theme ever since. I mean truly, these characters are not interesting until they’ve really been broken. Which is sort of the theme for Obsidian. It breaks sharp. And everyone will break at one point. Hasheem many times over (because I love him the most ❤️)

Oh no I’m mistaken. It’s not silver diamond but Koori no Mamono no Monogatari from the same mangaka. *runs to reread * OMG that series used to break my heart so bad ❤️

IMO The ice demon series (Let’s abbreviate it KMM) is far superior to Silver Diamond (I read this too and never finished it even though i find the quality to be great). KMM is a lot more heartbreaking IMO, which I love of course, and it squeezes my heart worse than Zetsuai. The pointy eared guy is Wild - the dark sourcerer of the east tower happens to be one of the few love of my life in terms of manga characters and his love story with Rapunzel (a twisted version of Rapunzel it) makes me cry every time I read it and I do mean every time (just did again after a marathon this afternoon -thanks to you). Oh and the drawing becomes truly gorgeous later on even though I might have preferred the boys to be a bit bigger and less clean. The facial expressions and body language just breaka your heart even if it had been in Japanese I’m sure.

And I agree, the depth of her creation is far superior than most yaoi and a kiss on the cheek by Rapunzel to Wild-sama and vice versa makes me giggle like an idiot and gets my heart racing worse than yaoi. *sighs thinking of Wild x Rapunzel* awww *sighs again*

You know what I really love about her works? She makes me love the kind of characters I usually hate. Take Rapunzel for example, who is a really meek, weak, womanly, cry baby uke who looks like a girl that I usually hate, but he ends up being totally Kircheis *squeess* *sighs again* and I just ADORE him. I mean they’re pretty much Fei/Tao kind of relationship from the start but she manages to make it make sense without it feeing like incest or creepy. And for once I find the main couple adorable ! I usually meh over main couple! It’s marvelous. Thank you for bringing this up. I can’t believe I forgot about this!
