[fic] A New Beginning (CI one shot)

Aug 14, 2014 14:46

I did promise a one shot following CI every once in a while, and since I don't have much time, this has been written on a whim one morning. It is not beta-ed, and it isn't much, but consider it as a thank you gift for those who are still around wanting more, and as proof that I'm not a total sadistic witch LOL (Whoever you are, know that I shall ( Read more... )

I love your OCs very much, especially Yoh and Feo. I’d say Feo is a woman with high dignity and self-confidence. She loves Mik but will never beg the love be returned, and she is so sure that Mik knows she is the one who knows him best, the one who he will seek for comfort when he is hurt. As for Yoh…can I say your Yoh is really my dream husband type? I’m not a strict Mik * Fei fan, and I read Yoh * Fei sometimes. But there’s always a feeling that these two don’t have a foundation to be together. Boss and subordinate. The Yoh I like most is the one in “Yours”, where “There was no fear, no obligation, nor does he allow himself to be or feel dominated by his superior. In the profession, they were on an entirely different level. As a man, face to face, Fei Long could not say for sure”. Yes, as a man face to face, I believe among the two it’s Fei who would find himself cry on the other’s shoulder and look for support; and the emotional blackmail at the end is so damn GOOD! NAUGHTY BOY SHOULD BHARDE PUNISHED, HARD! Strangely I don’t feel much for Alexei until he reappears as a ghost and performs his role in healing…I mean he IS very impressive in CI. He’s clever and knows how to get something he wants when he brought Fei to Moscow and used Vlad to force Mik and Fei apart. I really love that you killed him just in time before he finds out his true feeling for Fei, otherwise the relationship between the three would have been so damn messed up. But his death leads to an eternal friendship with Fei and unbreakable brotherly love with Mik, which I think is actually a happy ending for him. Yan… I cannot quite figure out why he just fled away in High Loft (because deserted by YA?). He could have hidden somewhere for a while and dealt with his father death, and come back to take Baishe when Fei was in jail. He is the legitimate heir anyway and given Fei’s self-abandoning at that time, it wouldn’t seem impossible to tame Fei and bind him in his bed. BTW, in the High Loft drama version in Japanese, Fei remembered that it is Yan who praised his hair and he actually GREW HIS HAIR LONG FOR YAN, not his father! The manga doesn’t tell explicitly who said Fei’s hair was beautiful, and although it’s very likely is his father yet if it is Yan it can also make a sense. If you’d like to write a filler about Fei’s childhood there’s a lot you can dig using this information?

I'm glad you enjoyed my OC (although I can't really say that Yoh is one, but yeah, he gets so little time in the manga we might as well kidnap and save the guy XD). Feodora has become everyone's favorite and she was so hated before which I find very satisfying as a result! She's the perfect image of a Chinese wife IMO (since my roots is actually Chinese XD) - perfect housewife who also holds the leash on the husband and the center of the universe in her household! She is a strong woman and needs no sympathy from a man. And in a way, her love for Mikhail simply can't be beaten and very similar to Yoh x Fei IMO. In fact, her creation was due to the fact that I want Mikhail to have a Yoh of his own, and draw the contrast of what YxF should have been and failed to be in manga, and also to make Fei realize that Mikhail is one hell of a man and that Fei has been taken him for granted far too long. It's a wake up call in a sense, and I think Feodora did slap Fei to his senses a lot.

But there’s always a feeling that these two don’t have a foundation to be together. Boss and subordinate.

I can't agree more really, even though I also love YxF a lot. I have a feeling they could either remain as such with a bond far beyond romantic love, or end up a tragic couple (which makes me drool to write BTW). I think Yoh needs to pull himself out as Fei's subordinate to shine, but doing so you'll destroy the charms of that master x mentally superior subordinate pairing. I'm glad you agree with Yours, because that piece was written for YxF fans, and I did want to give Yoh the spotlight he deserves. It was the only kind of Yoh I can respect as well - one that has the muscle and stubbornness to stand face to face with Fei and not just a love sick subordinate.

Strangely I don’t feel much for Alexei until he reappears as a ghost and performs his role in healing

Alexei is actually a love him or hate him character XD My current beta hates him to bits LOL But I'm glad you like ghost Alexei. In a way, you have to admit it was Alexei who had also brought MxF together in many ways and strengthen their bond. In the prequel of CI that I'm writing, however, I am hoping to be able to bring forth the contradiction within Alexei and the bond between the brothers. I especially love what he is to Mikhail really.

I really love that you killed him just in time before he finds out his true feeling for Fei, otherwise the relationship between the three would have been so damn messed up.

LOL TBH, it was either kill Mikhail or Alexei. One of them had to die to get Fei to DO something about his life and get over Asami. I changed my mind the last minute and kept Mikhail. The triangle is reserved for the prequel XD *drools over more angst* But you can always tell which character I love the most in my story. Whoever gets an epic death is my favorite. I love mourning for them. I still mourn for Alexei really T_T

Yan… I cannot quite figure out why he just fled away in High Loft (because deserted by YA?)
A lot of characters get dumped by YA, especially Mikhail. Yan is someone I would have loved to write more about truly. He does have much potential than what that crap FnR novel has turned him into.

BTW, in the High Loft drama version in Japanese, Fei remembered that it is Yan who praised his hair and he actually GREW HIS HAIR LONG FOR YAN, not his father!
WTF? For real? But we saw it was his father in the manga! And you are so right, that would make a HUGE difference and totally amazing information for a fic!

FEO: she really emerges herself in Retribution. She feels like a sincere girl who loves Mik very much and Mik's happiness is her top priority in CI when she tells Fei that Mik loves him and decides to marry Mik on the knowledge that Mik needs a marriage under the pressure of Vlad. But in Retribution, she suddenly turns out to be a very brave, decisive superwoman who sees a big picture. She's beautiful and knows how to rule people, she cooks well and is able to fly a jet! If I were Fei I would feel so threatened and scared.

ALEXEI: actually it shocks me a little when he tries to get Fei in his bed so eagerly and obviously, especially when he rapes Fei on the fight back to HK. He must know Fei is not a pet of Mik; he wears the bracelet and Alexei must see it! And I do believe the reason he wants Mik to know that Fei slept with him is not to sever their relationship solely! He does that on purpose for something else. Revenge for Mik grabbed Alejandro?

YAN: oh I am certain that in Drama it is Yan. YA and her publisher want to mess things up and create a potential pair, so they could rip off wallets of fans who are interested in Yan. And there are considerable Yan * Fei fans in China!

LOL Oh, I believe Fei constantly thinks to himself from now on every time someone pisses him off, "ohh you're lucky it's me and not Feodora you're dealing with you prick!"

He does that on purpose for something else. Revenge for Mik grabbed Alejandro?
But of course, you nailed it. Revenge, bro. How does THAT feel? XD On top of that, Alexei is a Casanova, he doesn't think a lot when he sees something beautiful. But the root of the brothers trouble isn't that simple really.

YA and her publisher want to mess things up and create a potential pair, so they could rip off wallets of fans who are interested in Yan.
At this point I totally see that coming. After the unspeakable action of putting Asami on the cover of Fei's novel with no Asami in it, I think they're capable of turning Fei into a woman if there are enough requests =_=

Sorry for replying to a 1 year old comment... I am just so into Feilong these days and I cannot find any fans anywhere...

I just wanted to say that the VF Drama CD of Flower on the High Loft did also include the fact that Yan raped Feilong when he went back home.
It is officially not translated, but people who translated the whole audio also did that part right at the end. And it's pretty clear what happened.

And I also believe it happened in the manga too, just YA didn't want to focus on that, and Feilong tried to repress it like he always does with everything.

But that Yan-part with Fei's hair in the CD was probably just for Yan fans as you also mentioned.

Ah I didn't know this as I never listen to drama CDs. But it's really no surprise. I even think that it makes the most sense given how it began and Fei's bruises afterwards. I think it probably turned out too gross for YA to draw or maybe her editor thinks it's not a great idea. Personally I don't see the point of making the Yan/Fei conflict sexual at all. Their broken relationship as brothers is more than enough to create a truck load of angst. But alas, this is yaoi =_= ...

"But it's really no surprise. I even think that it makes the most sense given how it began and Fei's bruises afterwards."

Yes. And in the long run how much Fei wants to be the one in control in every situation while before that night he wasn't like that. I think this also suggests it happened.

"Their broken relationship as brothers is more than enough to create a truck load of angst. But alas, this is yaoi =_= ..."

That is true. Even without that part, their relationship, especially on Yan's part is so messed up. :( But that is why it's interesting. It's a pity Yan was killed off in that novel. I wanted a lot more with him...Because he is so terrible and Fei needs a real villain.
