I'm so so so very sorry for the lateness of this chapter. Work has really been killing me due to a sudden shortage of staff. I swear I had to write this while on the elliptical because I had no other time. Also sorry if it sucks or not up to my usual standard. While I wasn't in a rush, I didn't really have time to edit and rewrite like usual. Other ( Read more... )

(If I may intervene... ?)

Hi there! I'm Del, die-hard YohxFei fan in love with CI :D

Well, I beg to differ. You ARE an amazing writer.

She is, she really is, but she's got self-esteem issues, so no matter how often we tell her, she honestly doesn't believe us :(

Everyone always says start with a drabble or oneshot, so it's impressive that you start with a multi-chaptered and big universe, too.

My very first fanfic was a multi-chapter too, simply because I had a story I wanted to tell and it happened to take several chapters. But I've noticed that some people are better at multi-chapter fics, and others at one-shots. It's like in RL, really: some authors are better at full-length novels (or even series of novels!), and others prefer short stories. So make sure not to try to force-fit yourself into a style that's not natural to you. Writing lots of one-shots is awesome too :)

The problem is, sometimes I get an idea that keeps growing, and then it gets stuck. So I just abandon it.

Stuck how? Anyway, that's not such an uncommon problem, I've even seen comms dedicated to "un-sticking" stories. Or you can ask other writers you trust for their help.

(PS: next chapter is out! And it's awesome, as always :D ! )

Intervene away. I'm so glad you're here to get the juice going and helping me answer comments *hugs*

I agree, some authors are better with short stories. I think it has to do with our taste. My first pick for books would be something I know doesn't end in one volume. The more the better. I get mad and cry when they end, serious. Short stories feel like dating a guy you know won't stay for long. T_T
