First things first.
Deadlines
We met our deadline, our final movie project came in a whopping 10 minutes early. We were shitting and sweating bricks.
So after 1 year at the DAVE School I'm happy to say I'll be graduating soon and be moving on up to the next phase of life where ever that will take me.
The final movie isn't up yet or available to watch until after graduation. However here's our trailer:

Catch-up
Big weight off of our shoulder.
Now that the movie is in, it's time to go back and clean it up and make it look 10 times better for graduation.
So that means i've still got more work to put in at school, plus not to mention I need to work on a demo reel if I want to get hired.
I'm pushing to make 3 demo reels. One for modelling, one for texturing and one for motion graphics. Seeing as I suck at character animation I don't want to put that in my reel. I also feel awkward about stating that I did a large chunk of mocap cleanup and blending for this project, because mocap isn't animation and I'm afraid if I put Motion Builder in my resume people will think I can also hand key animate in it.
I did no hand key animation for this movie, the most i did was a cigarette drop.
I'm planning on taking block 2 again as I've got 3 more months on my lease, so I can practice animating some more.
Ratatouille
AMC at Univeral Studios had a early screening of Ratatouille and I managed to get a hold of a ticket.
Simply gorgeous.
By far Pixar's best, and I think this one beats Brad Bird's previous masterpiece The Incredibles by a long shot.
The technical achievements of this movie far exceed that of The Incredibles and Monster's Inc.
The lighting was beautiful, the animation was flawless, and the hair simulations for the rats was incredible to watch.
To nail the detail of not only wet fur, but steamed and frazzled was stunning to watch.
Not that you need me to tell you to watch it, but go watch it when it's out.
