Interested in getting a variety of goods of a certain category/theme? It's like a lucky bag, catered to your wishes!
Japan has many stores that sell various adorable, stylish, sophisticated goods, and among them, the 100 yen stores have always out done themselves, coming up with almost all the things you can imagine in bright colours and patterns. (There are more subdued ones too though of course). Goods are constantly changing too, so in a few weeks, there may be new things out and old things gone!
Do you want to get your hands on some of these things as well?
Well, here's your chance!
Unlike a special request, you do not tell me exactly what you want. Instead, you just give me some guidelines to work with and I pick out the goods. You won't know exactly what you'll get until you receive your package, so there will be an element of surprise, just like a lucky bag! You can get packages delivered to your friends too, so it's great for presents.
So, how does it work?
READ CAREFULLY!
1. Decide on your budget/the amount you want to spend. The minimum amount you can spend is 540 yen (as each item at 100 yen shops is actually 108 yen after tax), so for five items. There is no maximum.
2. Decide on what kind of items you want in what category and some vague guidelines. Try not to specify how many of each type of item you want, as there are no guarantees I can fulfil that, depending on the stores' stock. A rough number (like "at least one", "a few") is alright though. Check out the bottom part for ideas. If you're spending less than 1080 yen in total, please limit to one category. If spending more, you can, for example, choose to spend 540 yen in one category and 540 yen in another category.
3. Place your order.
4. You will receive a quote for the goods and commission (40% of the price for the goods) (plus Paypal fees), along with an estimate for shipping. You will however, just have to pay for the goods and commission first.
5. I will go grab your goods. This will usually happen on the weekend due to my work schedule. If you choose to get spend more than 1620 yen (15 items), I'll throw in something extra!
6. Once I have your goods on hand, I will weigh them properly and send you an invoice for just shipping (plus Paypal fees).
7. Once paid, I will ship your goods, and you just wait to see what you got!
Need some ideas for categories/themes and guidelines? Check this out!
A. SNACKS
Japan has lots and lots of snacks! If you don't have an Asian supermarket near you, or feel that you lack choices, this is a chance for you!
These are just some examples! There are still many things like gum, biscuits, and such!
How to give guidelines?
Well, think about your preferences! Do you like fruity candy? Do you want some cute packaging? Are you okay with mint? Do you want some flavoured throat candy like ginger or lemon honey? Or maybe some unique flavoured candy like butter salt or pickled plum!
If you wish for biscuits or chips or any other easily crumbled snacks though, note that those can only be shipped in a box to prevent the items from being crushed, so the weight of the box will add to your package.
I will NOT ship any chocolate or chocolate/cream covered products as there's a possibility of melting, regardless of the season.
With food, it is also your responsibility to check your country's customs regulations! Some food cannot be shipped overseas.
B. STATIONERY
Again, these are just examples! In the photos, there are pencils, pens, erasers, memo pads (ringed too), sticky notes, decoration tape, stickers, letter sets...but there are more! There are some really cute small binder clips with patterns on them, colourful push pins, clearfiles, small pencil cases, message cards...
As for guidelines, do you want something cute or a bit more sophisticated? Maybe you want something you can use at school or at work? Do you mind people characters or prefer cute animals?
C. HANDICRAFT ITEMS
Not just fabric tape, but they have normal paper patterned tape as well! For craft punches, they have ones specifically for borders and for corners too. I've also seen a simple embosser with interchangeable patterns. There are small pieces of cloth, but also cloth stickers. There are of course, laces, ribbons, beads, gift bags etc as well.
D. SEASONAL ITEMS
Mainly for Hallowe'en and Christmas, the 100 yen stores put a lot of seasonal goods! (As Valentine's is mainly about chocolate making here, goods are limited, though there are a lot of gift bags, more than usual, for packaging.)
Here's part of the Christmas display Daiso had one year.
Check out those fancy Christmas cards! It may feel a bit expensive when it's 108 yen for one card, but they're all either 3D or melody cards. It's perfect for someone special. There are also mini cards for 5-6 in a pack.
For both Hallowe'en and Christmas, there are gift bags and stickers! Sometimes, they are of well-known characters such as Mickey and friends as well as Winnie the Pooh. They don't always put out the same things each year though, so keep that in mind.
They usually put these things out about a month to two months before the holiday. Some goods run out fast though, so if you wish to buy seasonal goods, it's best to place an order ahead of time so I can grab what you want the moment I see them! (I've learned my lesson last year, when the Daiso ran out of the Christmas stickers I wanted...by the second week of November!) Placing an order early would also mean getting your goods in time for the festivities.
E. ???
Well, whatever other categories you can think of! Hair accessories, make-up things... Do note that I have a right to refuse your order though if I feel that I will not be able to fulfil your request due to lack of goods or for another reason.

Budget | Total Number of Items: 1080 yen | 10 items
Category: Stationery
Guidelines of Items: I prefer cute over sophisticated, but animals over people characters. I'd also like at least one memo pad, some sticky notes, and a few letter sets. I don't need any pencils, but I'll leave the rest to you.

A quote not including shipping for this sample order would be:
Budget: 1080 yen
Commission: 432 yen
Paypal Fees: 76 yen
First Round Total: 1588 yen
Remember, you are expected to pay in two rounds.
One, for the amount spent on goods (your budget) and commission fees.
Two, for shipping.
Along with round one, I will also provide a rough shipping quote. If you're not sure about what shipping method you want, please tell me and I will give you a quote for all types. You are not expected to pay for shipping until I have the goods on hand.
Don't be afraid to ask questions before placing an order! Any order is also no obligation until you accept a quote and has paid an invoice.
Currently, I have no plans of extending this service to other shops just yet. Mainly because you will have to pay more but may get less things, and the prices are too varied for me to provide proper quotes. Depending on the items, shops may be further and out of the way for me too.
