Worked all day. I did pretty good on tips tonight. After work we went to T-Bone Tom’s with Margaret, Mary, Jessie and Roy. Mary turned to Matt and I and asked how long we’d been dating for, and everyone else at the table exclaimed that they had no idea we were together. Margaret said: “What? I never would have known! I mean, I see you guys talking at the computer, but I didn’t think anything of it. It just seemed normal.” Mary laughed. “Have you seen them look at each other? I’d thought it was pretty obvious to me.” I bit my lip and blushed a bit. “See? Look at her right now.” Matt smirked at me, and I quickly turned my girly blush into a glare.
Mary began reminiscing about her and her husband, talking about how mean she used to be to him, and how she would turn away when he would lean in to try and kiss her when they first started dating. “I was horrible to him,” she said, and Matt turned and looked at me with a glowering, knowing look. “Hmm, sounds familiar,” he said somewhat sardonically. I made a face at him.
It made me think, though. Maybe I'm a little too mean.
