We did get out tonight on a real date! It was so great to just be out with each other. It gets too easy to forget how much fun we have together when we haven't actually had fun together in quite a while.
The show started way later than scheduled and we ended up being almost the first people into the club, which got us a great table close to the stage. I had seen Mark on the street, arriving at the club, but I was across the street and down the block and he walked away without seeing me. Not that I expected him to recognize me anyway.
There was a girl waiting near us when we were getting our tickets, she had an extra free ticket she had won in a contest so she gave it to me, so right there we saved $15.00. I think I drank that up though, I made my husband get my drinks so I don't know.
I went to talk to the guy selling Mark's merchandise, asking if Mark was on the premises or not. I had written him a note before we left home, just in case I needed to slip it to someone at the club. I gave him the note, and went back to the table to wait for the show. We sat through the opening singer and during the changeover, Mark came through the crowd looking for me. I was very happy that he did recognize me, he gave me a hug, we talked for a few minutes and I introduced him to Ron.
He is a very mellow guy, with such a low-key stage manner. I loved his set, he got to my favorite Sun Kil Moon songs from the first CD. I didn't have the second SKM, so I bought it there. Or I should say, my husband bought it for me.
