What a strange journey us bus riders take everyday. It can vary from frightening to amusing. I believe today was someplace in between.
I got on my bus (after being waved on by a strange biker monk looking person. I was confused already) and took my seet on one of the inner facing benches. Two seats over was another student, already working. I decided to follow suit and took out some chem notes. That got boring quickly and the constant chattering of the intercom got too distracting. I set my notes aside and decided to just listen to music and relax a bit. This is when I noticed the guy across from me, who I will now call Ozzy. Why Ozzy? More on this later.
So I have a distinct advantage - I'm wearing dark sunglasses. Ozzy has no idea if I'm even awake (though I was a bit too alert to be sleeping). Ozzy was quite attractive. I had some good scenery for this bus ride. Judging by his ASU shirt, I assumed he wasn't getting off the bus anytime soon.
While Ozzy and I took turns looking at one another (I'd like to think he knew I was looking at him, despite the glasses), another good looking kid gets on the bus, and sits next to me. Hello I think. He promptly fell asleep. This is when I had a total Elliot Reid moment and realized he was partially leaned on me, especially on turns. I wasn't sure if I should be flattered or a bit weirded out. I found the reference amusing and so I smirked a little, internally hoping Ozzy noticed.
Sleeping person got off the bus early (and I actually saw him later in my bio lecture. How odd). For a while, a furry man with gross toenails blocked my view and I became annoyed. He mercifully left quickly. Ozzy and I returned to our awkward staring contest until the bus stopped where I was getting off. Apparently he was too. So Ozzy and I embarked on our silent date. Yes, a silent date is what I call it.
We walked next to each other (which required both of us to slow pace for some reason) until we reached Murdock Hall. That's when I decided "hey! I have to pee so I'll just keep walking to the MU" Ozzy also headed this direction. At the entrance, we parted ways, he glanced back a moment, and I went to pee.
Wonderful end, I know. I miss my silent date already. He just looked like an Ozzy is all.
By the way the campus is a wreck.
