what did you use to make that family tree? I'm trying to do one (and a relationship map) and I'm struggling to find photoshop brushes or anything that I could use to make it look more or less good. Any recommendations?

I did mine all in photoshop, pretty much from scratch. As far as I can tell, there aren't any photoshop brushes with the basic lines for a family tree, though I did try out using some of the border brush packs on deviantart.com and manipulating them (I didn't end up using them because they got a bit too busy for what I was doing, but you might try it out with better success!). As far as my lines go, I made those with the basic paintbrush in photoshop. If you plan on creating your stuff in photoshop as well and want basic lines, then I would be more than happy to send you my .psd file so you can just lift them and don't have to go through the mind-numbing dullness of creating a ton of different lines! XD

As far as the more ornate stuff goes, like the background and the header lines for the key and such, I just raided deviantart and brusheezy.com. I don't know what style you're going for, but those two sites have served me well in my misadventures with photoshop! ;)

I started doing my family tree(s) today because that's what I'm going to do for the big RaTs Anniversary and wow do they take long to make. I have to make several, some huge, some tiny, and I found a brush I can use for the lines but it involves a lot of deleting afterwards.

I'm probably not even going to do anything ornate and pretty because first, I need to get all this done and that's already so much work.

Thanks for the help :)
