Stories!

Dec 28, 2010 00:57

So due to the holidays I've been away from the computer and writing anything legitimate. It's probably a good thing, I find that when I deprive myself of writing time for just a little while, my brain can stew over and flesh out ideas better.
And boy did it. )

If you feel like putting this story up, then do it! There's no reason why you shouldn't. Three years is a long time to think about a story.
How long have the Blazes been with you? I'm curious.

Thank you! I have started to slowly put up HofaH, I think I've got four pieces up on RaTs right now. I've been on a Blaze kick lately but I'm fixin to push myself to write more of Jack and Morgan any day now.

The Blazes haven't been around for nearly as long as Jack and Morgan, but I've always wanted to write a mob story in some shape or form. The Blazes in their current form popped up last mid-November as my guilty pleasure writing when I should have been writing NaNoWriMo. I just barely finished in time thanks to them, the time monopolizing bastards. XDDD

wow, they are only a few months old then? That's pretty amazing, I would have suspected that they've existed far longer. I know about the appeal of mafia / mob families; my favorite movie is The Godfather for a reason. I try to incorporate some of it into the Misfits storyline sometimes although for some reason it's not as street tough as the Blazes.

I want to see more of Paul though!

Thanks! Timing had a lot to do with how the Blazes just seemed to come together for me. I originally had planned to do an actual novel length story with them centered around Atlas' death and Firebird's subsequent rise to power, but I was floundering because that is a very plot heavy project and I've always been more of a character-centered writer. Then I found RaTs and it injected new life into the whole universe and a way for me to write these awesomely skewed characters without worrying overmuch about a huge plot to tie them all together.

Oddly enough, I like the Misfits BECAUSE they're a bit more cultured than the Blazes could ever hope to be. They've definitely got a dangerous edge to them, but it's more...subtle, I suppose is the best way to explain it.

More Paul is coming in the immediate future thanks to the What If Malt you put up. He's currently arguing with a drag queen about shoes and fake nails. It's a side of Paul that he would have preferred to have never been fleshed out! XDDD
