THE BASICS Name: Andie Age: 27 Location: United States
YOUR FAVORITES Books: As you may have guessed by my username, my favorite author is Kurt Vonnegut. However, over the last few years I've almost completely forgotten that this genre called fiction even exists. I've immersed myself in nonfiction for so long that I'm just now rediscovering all that I've missed in the meanwhile. Most recently that's included Douglas Adams' Hitchhiker's series. I truly believe Adams was a genius. Other favorites include Einstein's Dreams by Alan Lightman, Catch-22 by Joseph Heller, The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat by Oliver Sacks, Written on the Body by Jeanette Winterson... I've also gotten into graphic novels lately. Movies: Beginners, The Intouchables, Anna Karenina, In My Father's Den, Dead Poets Society, Brokeback Mountain, Death at a Funeral, I Heart Huckabees, Lars and the Real Girl, The Departed, Shame... TV Shows: NCIS, Ripper Street, Hannibal, BBC Sherlock, Orange is the New Black, Game of Thrones, Generation Kill, Star Trek: TNG, Firefly, Modern Family, Perception, MI-5, House MD... Ships: Remus/Sirius (Harry Potter), Tiva (NCIS)... That's really about it. Celebrities: Matthew Macfadyen and Michael Weatherly, mostly. Sports: I don't really follow sports or have favorite teams, but I enjoy watching baseball, and occasionally basketball as well. I'm one of those odd people who finds baseball one of the most exciting sports to watch. Hobbies: Photography, reading, watching films, sport shooting, writing (somewhat), being outdoors, travel
YOUR JOURNAL What's your friending policy?: My journal entries are locked by default, but feel free to add me if you think we'd get along, and I'll do the same. If you realize down the line that we don't click or you're not interested in what I have to say, just defriend me. No hard feelings. How often do you update?: It varies. Sometimes several times a week, sometimes a little less. I'd say at least once or twice a week is pretty standard, though. What do you usually update about?: Generally, what's going on in my life. I'm finishing up my last semester of my undergraduate career, pursuing a degree in sociology with dual minors in disability studies and English. There's plenty about my schooling. Soon, there will probably be plenty about my frantic search for a career, post-graduation. I'm planning a trip to London and February and will probably post about that quite a bit as the months continue. Sometimes I post photographs. Sometimes I post videos and links to things that interest me. It's a mixed bag.
THE RANDOM What's your favorite things about fall?: The cool weather, the leaves, and the seasonal beverages. What are three random facts about you?: 1. I did an internship in Cape Town, South Africa this past May and June. 2. In fourth grade my best friend and I created and circulated a petition that girls and boys should be able to play the same sports in gym class. It did not go well. 3. I collect owl-related things and glass paperweights. Anything else you'd like to share?: I think my work here is done.
You do sound interesting and we have, I think, enough interests in common to be able to start a nice conversation. Want to take a look at my profile and decide whether you think we may click and try it? I think we may, but as you said, no hard feeling if you don't feel the same about it ...
