Refreshed and Rejuvinated!

Okay, yeah I haven't posted in forever. Oh well, moving on.

This weekend was President's Day weekend, so everyone got Monday (today) off from school. Knowing this, chili arranged to come up and visit me over the break. I was really excited for her coming, as I haven't seen any of my friends from home since Winter Break and I miss them all terribly.

Her bus got in late Friday night and I took a cab to meet her since the regular buses weren't running that late. After we got to my dorm got her unpacked and did the warm and fuzzy reunion bit, she showed me the first few episodes of the series Avater: The Last Airbender which she had just recently gotten into. Then we went to bed Well it turns out that Avatar is actually a great series. I mean that not only in the sense that it's enjoyable to watch, but also in the sense that it's well made. The animation, the writing, the characters, the acting and the music are all well crafted. I could go into a whole huge rant about what makes the show so great but that's not what this is about.

Needless to say, after watching just the beginning, Chili and I were hooked. Saturday morning, after walking down to the market and stocking up on chips and soda we proceeded in our quest to watch the show in its entirety (thus far, anyway.) All two and a half seasons. It's amazing how efficient our marathons can be when paced well. We took breaks for meals and even went to bed around 1-ish (I think,) Saturday night. Keeping that pace after breakfast the next morning, by Sunday evening we had finished the show and had time to make some serious strides on Chili's Ruby Moon costume for Sakura-con.

This morning we rose at 6:30 to get her to her 8:15 bus on time.

Overall, we weren't terribly active this weekend but our time was no less well spent. Not to say that our friendship was in any way lacking before, but Chili and I really bonded over this weekend and this show. Something about the entire atmosphere of the weekend was just relaxing. No stress, no conflicts, just two days of two friends having a good time kicking back. I can't express how great it was and how much I needed it. In some ways I feel like this weekend alone is the fuel I needed to get me through the rest of the quarter here.

I can never thank Chili enough for coming up here, nor put into words just how wonderfully rejuvenated I feel from this weekend! She's the best friend a person could ask for! You Rule Chilibird!
