I don't know. Whenever I walk along and see a squirrel going about its business I can't help but stop and admire a lot of times. But as soon as he/she gets wind of me, they scatter off. It's sad. It's like I'm this big monster that they have to run from. Of course it makes sense. As far as they know, I am a big monster. Hell, if I was eating breakfast and all of a sudden some giant thing 30 times my size wanders by near me I'd panic and run off too. But it makes me feel bad. I'm not scary. I don't even want to touch you. I just...don't run away. :(
It's nothing else. Just squirrels. Thinking about it, I think it's Disney's fault. The end of that squirrel sequence in the Sword in the Stone traumatized me as a child. I'm pretty sure I cried the first time I saw it.
