Edit: This isn't a prologue now so much as it is a possible scene, and has been altered to reflect this.
Here's the prologue to my first story. Warning: spoilers for all series involved, and could be completely altered in the future.
Edit: no longer applies:The series is named Pandora Fallen for what the last installment will be called.
So . . . enjoy! Constructive criticism welcomed. Flames will be used to fuel the furnace that will eventually destroy the Pandora Gem.
Sorry . . . I couldn't get the cut to work right. Help is appreciated.
Edit: Cut works now! Yay!
Edit: no longer using YGO. For the Yu-Gi-Oh! verse, I'm considering the Pyramid of Light from the movie to be the 'eighth' Millennium Item, with the Blue-Eyes Shining Dragon and Anubis taking over the world and all that.
For those new to Magic Kaito/Detective Conan, Pandora is a gem rumored to be hidden inside another gem, glow red under the light of the full moon, and shed tears of immortality with the pass of a certain comet. I . . . twisted the definition of Pandora, hence the end of the teaser.
This takes place about at the end of the first major section of the Earth-set fic.

Soon it would be That Time now. She was scared.
But it wouldn’t show. Poker Face was still needed, now.
Footstep echoing, the walls seemed only to close in on her.
Her steps echoed faintly in contrast with the pounding of her heart.
Everything was drowned out completely by the yells and chaos of her pursuers.
Her thoughts were focused on one thing, and only one thing, right then. She didn’t th-

what normally needed only a moment seemed to last an Eternity before it Clicked.
Eternity.
Oh, the irony.
She opened the door.
Was she too late? No, please-!
No, not at all . . . not late in the least.
“At the end of this day, one shall stand . . . one shall fall.”
The quote echoed in her head, spoken by a deep voice that calmed her.
But it didn’t calm her enough. She knew that it was still too late.
One would live, though broken . . .
. . . the other would die.
She knew.

Time slowed as she considered the scene before her.
. . . . . . . . .
That was all she needed to make the choice, to confirm the best scenario.

The Amulet was not in the light.
.
Her word exploded into all possible shades of flashing red light as she stepped into the full moon.
Pandora.
She woke up screaming his name.
