Brian and I just finished One Punch Man and can't wait for the 2nd season that is rumored to be in the planning stages. We enjoyed the simplicity of the story line and the action in the animation.
Not sure how to feel about Durarara x2. We just found it on Netflix and are watching it but miss the feeling of the first series. Too many characters and too all over the place we feel. Though with the seasons continuing, we'll see how this will all play out.
We still need to finish parasyte. And we sorta lost interest in Seven Deadly Sins. Though Brian and I recently started going back to series we never got to watch. This past weekend Brian became interested in watching HunterXHunter (the 2011 edition) and so far we are enjoying it.
We have so much catching up to do, we're not sure we'll be able to take on any new series this season, but that's what we said last season. LOL ;).
I guess I'm the odd one out with One Punch Man. I feel like I "get" the gist of the series and don't really feel the need to watch more repetitions of the same scenario. (I am aware that I'm in the minority opinion. =p I'll probably continue to watch, cuz Mamo, but that's basically it.)
Nanatsu no Taizai is just average. (I think I might have mentioned this earlier?? [/too lazy to check]) HxH starts out really good. There are some things I enjoy about the first series more than the second one. I think that the Hunter Exam arc is too short in the 2011 version, and it's just such a solid adventure arc... Everything kind of goes downhill after the York Shin (I know that the 2011 version actually calls it "York New"... but I just CAN'T x.x) arc... and even more after Greed Island. And I'm not sure if you remember, but I really loved this series. *sigh* I guess I still have a soft spot for it.
However, anime is forever moving forward! There's going to be a new "it" series soon, I'm sure. =)
I finally took a good look at the list over the weekend, and... Realized that there's really not all that much new stuff that I'm excited about! Ajin and Boku Dake were the only two that really jumped out at me. (Prince of Stride and Dimension W and Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu were my maybes.) And thank you for reminding me that HaruChika is a mystery series...and by PA Works. I think I stopped reading the description after I saw "wind instrument club" lol. But I should probably give it a try ;)
Oh, and Nijiro Days is shorts :P (That was on my list until I saw that :P)
Arg, shorts! >.> They always get me. Thanks for the heads up.
Lol, I think you automatically stop reading whenever the synopsis has music. I've enjoyed some KyoAni and PA Works stuff that has been music centric.
I feel like... half of the stuff I watch anymore is just continuations (which is fine, but just goes to show that maybe there's a limit to good stories out there). Even out of the new series I pick up, I usually drop 2-3 of them... so I don't think I'll be watching a lot come this new season. Eh, as long as the things I end up watching are good, then I'm happy.
If you do have time, I would recommend Assassination Classroom. I find it surprisingly entertaining.
(I'm really having to psych myself up for God Eater. If it's only 3 more episodes, I really ought to finish it, right? XD;; )
Yeah, I found one site that actually listed the shorts as shorts which was super helpful but then... I was just looking at Nijiro Days here: https://www.livechart.me/winter-2016/tv and it says there will be 26 episodes, 13 minutes each O_o Which is weird, but... Essentially the same as a 13 episode regular series? I'm confused :P
And yeah, I feel the same way, really. There's also enough regular TV that I'm interested in now that I feel like a light anime season here and there works just fine for me ;)
Now would probably be a good time for me to give Assassination Classroom another chance... I'll download the first few eps and see what I think :D
(Honestly, I feel like if you watch the first few and you're not into it, there'd be no shame in giving it up. Better late than never? :P)
I watched the first episode of HaruChika and really enjoyed it. They're in the brass instrument club, not the wood wind (wonder if the synopsis got it wrong). It... totally went in a different direction at the end of the first episode than I was expecting. I totally lol'ed at the end of the first episode.
