I'm horrid about updating this thing, aren't I? Given that I've been busy enough that I haven't been able to talk to most of you guys, it's prolly a good idea to update. Then again, maybe no one reads this thing anyway. :)
Well, last Friday (10/10/03), I sang a benefit concert for my former professor (and still vocal coach) Oksana Protenic's school in Connecticut. Sang "Glitter and be Gay" from Candide by Leonard Bernstein. Its a hard as hell piece, but I think I pulled it off quite well actually. DZ0 came with me, which really made me happy. I love having him with me when I perform, its just so nice to know he is there, you know? He also looked very snazzy. *wink* Anyway, did taht. Then the next day, I went 'shopping' with my friend Margaret (which meant she shopped, I followed cuz I'm poor, lol). Of course, I had to work at 9 West that night. Sunday I had to work at the info desk. I'm really, really in the market to either go for more hours at 9 West and quit the info desk, or find a different second job. I hate the info desk. They treat me like crap, and rather like a doormat ("Kelli, you WILL be here." "I have class." "Oh well, skip it.") Thats a typical conversation. That, and my boss went on a swearing and yelling spree that day that I didn't cause nor deserve, and I don't have to take that.
Anyway, my mom came up last Thursday, and she'll be here till next Monday. We went and visited Melissa and Kyle and went to the Poconos, which was great. We're gonna be takin' care of mucho business while shes here. I got a refund check from college (a miracle) and so I used the opportunity to open a new bank account to start the switch between banks (I hate my current one). Also gonna go through my storage space, see what I need to keep and what I don't. I'm such a packrat. *sigh* Left to my own devices, I'd keep EVERYTHING.
Also gotta get my Audition tape for Juilliard Opera Center in. *Snort* That'll be a miracle.
