[It wasn't a normal heist by any stretch of the imagination, considering Kid was used to heist notes and fancy performances and huge audiences applauding him as he made his escape.
But he couldn't take that risk here. As much as he hated it, it was best not to attract attention to himself this time around. He had been brainwashed twice for trying to steal something already, so it looked like stealth was the way to go for this one, even if it really wasn't his style.
The jewelry store he had targeted was easy enough to break into without tripping any of the alarms (1950's technology was so primitive) and it didn't take him much longer than ten minutes to grab what he had came for (a fairly decent sized diamond, although he was convinced it was nothing special) and get out without attracting the attention of any of the drones (he really did not want to get brainwashed again). He figured as long as no one saw him, he would be safe.
His small-scale heist a success and his infamous caricature taped to the door of the jewelry store, he slipped through the empty night streets of Mayfield and looked for a good place to change back into his civilian clothing, diamond resting carefully in his pocket]
