It's me, the other guy!

Kay, I'm sorry, but I watched Swan Lake last night for my paper and I have to comment XD.

First of all, don't know if I said it here, but yes, paper I need rough draft done on Tuesday for (ack) is about Tchaikovsky/Swan Lake. Not just an excuse to mention Princess Tutu, nope. Actually, I've found Tchaikovsky was quite the interesting guy o_O. Apparently when he first started conducting his own pieces, he would hold his chin with one hand because he was afraid his head was going to fall off. Seriously. And honestly, the modern adaptions section idea has helped me stay focused ^^; I get to watch The Swan Princess tonight with candy__chan and bishonen_girl! Which, I've never seen it, but we may end up MSTing it.

Speaking of MSTing... Yeah, if I'm watching something and I don't know what's going on or there's little story, my inner Mystery Science Theater 3000 fan takes over and I start making up the story/commentating, if only in my head. Like when I watched episode 24 of Code Geass without subtitles and I had no idea of who most of them were or what was going on. Lelouch had the world's worst case of pink eye XD. It was contageous!!

Anyway, that's what happened while I was watching Swan Lake. Not knowing much about ballet, I thought it was a good production, but... there is just so much "And we're dancing... We're dancing... Yeah." And frankly Siegfried is a moron. There is a big difference between black and white =/

I mean, you can only convey so much through dance and the notes in the program/DVD booklet, but... yeah. There was this one character that was Siegfried's friend, I guess. I'm too lazy to look up his name XD. But I swear, every time he came on stage or drew attention it seemed so overblown that every time I saw him I was like "It's me, the other guy! :D" in this really egotistical voice.

Not really sure what happened at the end. Somehow taking the sorceror/raven guy's mask off (too lazy to look up his name again) made him succumb to the power of being ballet'd? And, I dunno, The Other Guy showed up and came out with what was supposed to be Siegfried's body (cept he was actually dancing in the background...) I just started cracking up XD. I... dunno. It amused me.

And honestly, Princess Tutu helped me understand it. No, really! Cause I was seeing the ballet mimes! It was like "Hey, he just said no!" or "That's the marriage and/or vow mime!" and "Ah, the "I love you" mime!" And toward the end while I was commenting in my head I was all "And Odette's all "I just wanna die"" and I swear the next second she did the death mime. I was like "Thank you, Fakir!" XD I even thought a few of the moves looked familiar. And I don't watch ballet ^^;

So, yeah. Onto the paper. And "It's me, the other guy!" is going to be a huge inside joke with me now. So much that I'm the only one that gets it @_@;

school, princess tutu, mst3k, anime, music
