So when I first got into The X-Files, I wanted to make new friends with similar interests.  A (very) quick FB search brought me to the brilliant group that is Aussie X-Files @ Facebook - a committed group of fans who are not only dedicated to the show and its legacy, but also the charities that its alumnae stand for. All in all, a brilliant group of people who I am honoured to stand alongside.

This year, sandiscully (the creator of AXF) is yet again running more auctions to help one of Gillian Anderson's charities - SA-YES. From its site: SA-YES was founded in 2008 to provide much needed support for marginalised children and young people in South Africa. Our first project is a programme for youth leaving residential care in Cape Town. Our goal is to provide the youth with guidance that will enable them to develop their skills, further their education and source suitable housing, in order for them to participate in society as independent, mature, responsible adults. So, just from reading that, you can gauge that they do some pretty damn important and valuable work - how can you help? Well, you can always donate directly via their site, or you can bid in one of the last few rounds of the AXF auctions - and there are some INCREDIBLE items up for grabs. I can personally vouch for the efficiency of shipping and professionalism with which all purchases are handled - I succeeded in winning an amazing DD and GA autograph just a few weeks back. Flawless transaction, brilliantly handled by sandiscully and all proceeds (minus feeds) go to a charity founded and endorsed by Gillian Anderson - what are you waiting for?
