[!!!] plagiarism notice - "unwanted omega" by blake_maclaren
Dearest writers and readers,
As of yesterday evening, it been brought to our attention that the fic "Unwanted Omega" by blake_maclaren contains plagiarized material from the novel Change of Heart by Mary Calmes. As per protocol, the fic has been taken down, and the writer will be banned from all future rounds of the exchange. (Additionally, in the time it took for us to write this post, the writer has admitted fault and apologized sincerely to us and their recipient without protest-details regarding this will come at the end of the post).
In truth, it is not without regret that we enforce the rules objectively and without leniency, but as a lesson to all writers and as an exchange that sincerely supports artistic exploration and integrity, we cannot make exceptions. Beneath the cut, you will find places where lines were taken or closely paraphrased from the original novel, as well as the writer's apology, quoted verbatim.

I sincerely apologize for any harm my actions may have caused. I often take ideas from the novels I read but I'll accept whatever censure you may give me. I know this means I'll be kicked out permanently out of the exchange but more than that I just wanted to apologize. I'm really sorry.
My mistake was ripping almost exact lines from the novel and thinking that since I mentioned where I took it from it will be okay. I know this will also be damaging to the exchange and for that I sincerely apologize. This will be a lesson learned for me. I'm really sorry.
I have no qualms about being kicked out of the exchange because of what I did wrong. Please give my recipient my humblest apologies, and also please disregard my pinch-hitter fic. Again, I sincerely apologize and thank you very much for accepting my apology.
As plagiarism from both published works and other writers' fanfiction is a serious problem in the fic community, it is our responsibility to remind everyone in light of this event that integrity is a value that all of us in the fanfiction community must uphold and act accordingly.
