Summary: Yamapi finally concludes that he has feelings for Tegoshi. He decides to tell him these emotions of his.
This was it. He was finally alone with the younger boy, no more distractions and no more interruptions. He was going to say it no matter what his reaction will turn out to be, whether he felt the same or thought it was wrong. He loved him, he always did. He just never understood his feelings clearly. He always knew he was only a younger brother to him, someone who needed his protection and guidance. There was a short silence; the breeze was dancing with their swaying bangs. He had suddenly encountered a mental block, this wasn’t like him. Somehow, the boy had changed him. Nevertheless, it was a great feeling to love someone even if that person changed him little by little.
“Anou… What did you want to talk about privately Yamashita kun?” The younger boy whispers as he fiddles around with his hands, he’s nervous. He smiles upon his reaction, he knows there’s a small chance that he feels the same about him.
“For so long I’ve always thought of you as a sibling, Tegoshi. We’ve been supporting each other these past few months and helped each other when it was needed. It made me warm inside to have a friend like you. You’ve always admired me as your senpai and I’m grateful that you idolize me. Demo…” It’s time. He’s going to say it, he needs to say it. There’s no turning back. It’s now or never.
“Doushitano? Am I scaring you with my fan boy attitude?” He questions, frowning. It pierces him to see that side of Tegoshi, he always enjoyed the cheerful boy who gave out compassionate smiles and childish hugs to everyone.
“Iie. That’s not it. I quite enjoy seeing that part of you. What I’m trying to say here is… Eto…” His heart skips, he’s having second thoughts about this. What if he doesn’t see him like what he thinks of him? He’s afraid of being rejected again.
“What’s wrong?” He notices Yamapi trembling, it worries him to see a weak side of him but he feels happy at the same time for witnessing it.
“I… I… I…” He’s stuttering, he’s struggling to confess his feelings. Loving the same gender was new to him and it’s his first time to experience such feelings, he’s frightened on what might happen.
“You what?” He tilts his head and faces him. The innocent face of Tegoshi was irreplaceable. He had a manly face yet a girlish physique at the same time. The combination only suited him, no one else.
“I love you.” He finally says with dignity and pride. He admits his love for him at last. He has no regrets and he will continue to feel that way even if the young boy puts his feelings aside and tells him their relationship can only be as friends. It will be alright as long as it’s him who causes him pain because he knows the only cure is him himself. He’ll wait for him even if it takes centuries for him to acknowledge him more as his leader.
“H-Hontou?” He stammers, cheeks now changing into a shade of pink. His eyes widens as the boy brings his hands towards his chest. “I feel the same way too, I have been for a long time now.” He smiles as he feels his heart racing quickly. Their separate hearts have finally become one.
Yamapi brings him closer, having a firm grip on him as if he would never let him go. They’ve been through many obstacles but they finally reached their destination, a tight bond where they’ll never leave the other behind.
They’ve been far away for far too long but they’ll love each other forever, they have been all along.
