As there are always more pleasing things to do than write cover letters. Which still need to be done. DAMMIT.
CHUCK S3x04
___ CHUCK
FIRST OFF: WHAT WAS UP WITH THE "THAI LADY" AND THE RANDOM "THAI"?? And I am using quotation marks because I actually didn't realize up until Chuck was flashing and the Intersect showed Thai letters that that was the actual language the (totally not Thai, or I will eat my hat) lady was speaking in. I'll give Zach Levi half props for adorably mangling his way through it, but the fact remains that I myself actually had to ref the subtitles to understand what was being said. What the hell kind of dialogue coach did they grab off the street, the pronunciation and emphasis on words was totally whack and the actual phrasing was pretty weird. I refuse to watch it again to find out more details, but lolol it was so baaaaaaaaad.
The rest of the ep was pretty sweet though, even if I have yet to see that Superman movie I am kind of fond of Brandon Routh, so seeing him as Shaw is something I heartily welcome. I ~~wonder what mysterious backstory he has! Maybe some dead wife? Based on that ring he was putting on in the end. OR MAYBE HE HAS A SECRET FAMILY HIMSELF, which would make him a slight hypocrite, but oh well. Moar Captain Awesome is also something I cannot complain about. Looking forward to next week! If anyone knows some good iconmakers for Chuck, hit me up~
White Collar S1x08
___ WHITE COLLAR
What a relief that Peter isn't ~evil, though I admit that I really didn't believe that as a real possibility, and seeing all the post-ep meta really confirmed my suspicions.
CUTE BITS/BITS I LIKED:
- Neal's wounded and angry faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaces and little sniping remarks when he still believed that Peter was ~evil. I totally was aww-ing out loud at the computer screen, especially during the chess flip-out bit and when he and Peter were "play-acting" the marks' positions. NOT THE MOST SUBTLE OF CHARACTER ACTIONS, but because I love these two so much I didn't really care.
- lol at the fratty asshole traders and Neal at their little retreat get-togethers. Crazy 8 or whatever that nickname for Neal was is kind of hilarious and random, I gotta admit (since I am not getting the ref-- weren't O-Ren Ishii's henchmen in Kill Bill named something similar?).
- All the ~~tension between Neal and Peter throughout the ep before they cleared the air was simply delicious, though seriously WHERE WAS THE MOUTH-TO-MOUTH in that comics vault of Wow Shaz Would Like One, Too?? I guess I can settle for the chest rubbing that Peter was doing and all the other wonderful fan-service-y bits in the rest of the ep.
- OH AND ELIZABEEEEEEEEEETH ♥
- Peter in burgundy. ALSO: PETER UNDERCOVER. I want to know more about his other active aliases!
- Nothing in the world can make me read that scene with Kate and Peter as anything else but "HANDS OFFA MY MAN, BITCH". Dang Peter is possessive. And was totally in control of that scene. Also, Tim DeKay has some really glorious facial expressions in that scene, nggg so charismatic ♥
- I will never get why they cast an actress to play Kate who just looks so damn much like a younger sister to Tiffani Thiessen. Who also of course looks like Neal. Is it Peter's thing to be surrounded by people who are apparently his total physical type?
OH AND NOW I HAVE REMEMBERED AGAIN THAT I REALLY WANT TO READ YOUR AU NOW,
laulan and
betweenthebliss. How far along are you guys?
Scrubs S9x10
___ SCRUBS
This is good, frothy, low-involvement fun as always. I liked seeing Cole slowly gain inches of character depth, seeing more about the Ozzie chick and the Asian dude (I can't remember their names, oops) and of course, Drew and Denise. It never fails to crack me up that due to the fact that he's a good bit older than the rest of the med students, the Scrubs writers totally make us of this to really have the character have the most whacked-out backstory ever. So he was in jail, married, and a member of a cult--- no wait, a "marketing scheme that kind of somehow ended up with us living on a compound" lolol?? WHAT ELSE IS IN STORE. Also fun: the fact that Cole kissed a dude for "Lacrosse initiation" and probably liked it and generally whenever Turk, Cox and Kelso interact. I don't actually miss JD that much, I gotta say (I always liked him best together with Turk anyways).
