If I ignore the fact that I have made PITIFUL progress on my thesis due to the following activities, these past few days have been quite fun! I was invited to a WG flatwarming party on friday, got to talk to a friend I haven't been in contact with for ages (he spent the previous semester in Shanghai, as well) and the assorted strangers who were also at the party. Yesterday I hung out at Wido's place with Clemens, and later two girls I also vaguely knew showed up and somehow I now have plans to go to an Australian pub with them next Wednesday? And after that I had to drop by another's friend's birthday/welcome back bash, to which I was uh, THREE HOURS LATE (whoops), but since we're not thaaaaaaat close it wasn't that much of a sin. Got some free cake to take home though, which was always a bonus. And all of this didn't cost me a cent, so at the very least I am wasting ~*Valuable Thesis Writing Time*~ frugally. I will also be heading off to meet Hazel and Marius later on today, the former of whom I haven't seen all summer and the latter for over a YEAR, as he one day decided to put his studies on hold and gallivant and work his way through America, Australia and Southeast Asia. He is also blond, blue-eyed, intensely attractive and fit (former gymnast!), and Hazel and I fully intend to hook him up with Carmen when she is back in town ♥. Oh, and I have some serious Jeeves and Wooster DVD watching planned with Olga later on this evening. Why is being social so unbelievably exhausting sometimes? I am not used to having things to do with so many people lol. Especially since I have insufficient self-control to get my uni shit done in time. SELF, WE NEED TO WORK ON THIS.
ANYWAYS, onwards to some reactions to the crazy amounts of distract-o TV I have been watching on TV-dome.net these past few days as well~~
.
THIS SHOW JUST KEEPS MAKING ME HAPPY. Holy shit, ultimate mood lifter. I seriously can't wait for the next episodes. Kurt is fast becoming one of my favorites since last week's episode, but my ultimate fondness has to go for the sometimes dumb-as-rocks but oh so well meaning Finn. That he knew just how to use Rachel's affections for him to try and get her back into Glee club was something I didn't expect of him, and even so I don't blame Rachel for being unable to resist. Guh, his stupid hot faaaaaaaaaaaace. Mr. Shue and April were great to watch as well, oh Kristin Chenoweth, how delightful is your voice? I basically was flailing all over all the musical numbers this episode, and if someone has a copy of the duet cover of "Alone" that was sung or the group ensemble of "Last Name", I uh totally wouldn't complain if I could have a dl link *coughs*. MUST REWATCH THIS EPISODE AGAIN SOON.
And speaking of rewatching things again soon, THIS EPISODE. Oh wow. I was prepared to love the idea of a future!episode already, but actually watching this was one of the most satisfying viewing experiences of SPN that I have had in a while. I was wholly and utterly pleased by this episode. The beginning in the present day was hilarious ("DEAN. THE VOICE SAYS I'M ALMOST OUT OF MINUTES" bwaaaaaahaa) and Jensen totally knocked it out of the ballpark with the Dean and future!Dean acting. Seeing future!Chuck and future!Castiel was at first hilarious, then quite heartbreaking when the extent of what changed and went so damn wrong came to light. THE SCENE IN THE CAR WITH DEAN AND CASTIEL gaaaaaaaaaah :(. And Dean meeting future!Sam, or should I say Lucifer wearing his Sam-suit? And clad in what seems to be CW short-hand for evil- the White Suit of DOOM AND MORAL DEPRAVITY, though I admit that I loved it on Lex Luthor and I quite liked in on Sam (though it was still lulzy, ngl). I really like how Jared chose to act in that scene, I was transfixed by his facial expressions and the different cadence his words had. Creepy, delightful and compelling ♥
AND THEN WHEN IT WENT PACK TO THE PRESENT DAY, DEAN AND SAM MADE UP AGAIN. THEY WANT TO MAKE THEIR OWN FUTURE. All is right with the world (for now) ♥ I am ready and psyched for next week's episode as well, ahhhh.
Oh and lastly re: episode three? That montage to Lynyrd Skynyrd's
"Simple Man" still pretty much blows my mind. Brilliant song.
The first three either fill me with lolz (SHELDON ILU) or are insanely entertaining to watch (especially with no commercial breaks!). Dexter ended on such a cliffhanger I can't wait to see the second ep tomorrow morning. Loved the little spin on the "new" opening credits, though I really agree with the general consensus of not needing to see quite that much of naked John Lithgow, though he does sell the creepy factor oh so well.
