My weekend in PICTURES (thank you, image google!)

Aug 24, 2009 23:44

Seeing as I am still too lazy to upload pics from my camera since uh, the last few weeks. Oh my.
Work sucked today, I was so unfocused and took ages to do four media reports (still not complete whoops) and had genius things happen like doing one I had already finished before but forgotten about. And then there were the random clippings that no one could account for and I had to hunt down. Ffffucking hell people, give me complete soft and hard copies to work with here :/

SO I WANT TO DWELL IN THE AWESOMENESS OF THE WEEKEND.

...Met up with Migel for some last ditch hanging out (whyyyyyyyy must he be gone next week already bawww) and of course, INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS. Oh my god, I loved it. One of my favorite QT movies now, if only for the rampant use of languages that WEREN'T ENGLISH, thank you, this is how it should be in a WWII movie! And seeing all the German actors-- TIL SCHWEIGER (BAHAHAHA Stiglitz' face in the Tavern scene), DANIEL BRÜHL (since when is his French so damn good?? Holy shit), GEDEON BURKHARD (WHAT THE FUCK, KOMMISSAR REX DUDE HELLOOOOOO) and holy crap, Richard Waltz or whatever the guy's name was who played Hans Landa? Utterly brilliant and in my opinion the real (villainous) star performance of the movie. BRRRRRR.
The scalping kind of grossed me out, I do admit, and the one scene I did feel a bit uncomfortable about was the one with the one German captain(?) who refused to give up the location of the next German platoon. Actually understandable, and also understandable was the end he met at the "Bear-Jew"'s baseball bat (Eli Roth is huge, what the hell)... but I did feel sorry for the character.
WHO ELSE HAS WATCHED IT? Come talk to me about it! Diane Kruger was actually pretty good in it, and man do I ever dislike her otherwise...

...Dinner at the Greyhound Cafe in Siam Paragon, om nom nom Thai fusion food with slick, quirky and classy decor! Our chandelier was made out of plexiglass cut-outs of fish! And there were others made out of wine glasses, too. Ahhh SO COOL.

...when I have a weekend in town, I stay at some service apartments downtown, and this is basically my CHILLAXING UNIFORM :Db

Oh and it RAINED LIKE HELL that evening ffffffffffffuck I was up to my ankles in water ugh.

Migel mentioned on Saturday that he and the guys were going to a shooting range! So naturally I decided to ditch my shopping plans and tag along, and since none of us knew it was at the Crocodile farm, we actually got us as two-for-one excursion deal. SWEEET.

...A .38 Revolver! I finally got to shoot an actual, loaded gun! Yess, one of my goals in life, fulfilled ♥ ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE, I AM NOW READY FOR YOU. Okay, I wasn't actually that good at aiming (though the paper target dude should be in serious pain and have at least one limb fucked, based one the shots I think I hit since I shared the target with Migel), and the gun got quite heavy after a while-- but it was so satisfying! Not as much of a kickback as I was fearing, either. I'd love to try some other calibers now, sometime in the future :DD Of course, Chris and Khan were off in a whole 'nother class having their own man-off and headshot competitions, as the former loved his Swiss military training and the latter has been shooting since he was eight and has his own BB-gun outfit and arsenal lol.

...after shooting our hearts out we went for a tour of the crocodile farm. Sweltering hot that day, and it was already quite late so there wasn't much to see (and the croc farm with its shitty cages is something that depresses me when I really think about it anyways) ...Yet there still were a metric fuckton of crocodiles. And baby ones! Who look really creepy as they delicately piece their way through their eensy enclosure like the mini versions of the behemoths they will grow into some day. Khan really wanted to find "Yai", the famous biggest croc in captivity (he's 6m something and over 30 years old), but the dude just didn't want to be found. Or at least we couldn't tell him apart in the giant crocodilian horde.

...I begged off a round of Zocken with the guys, and headed back to the serviced apartment, or more precisely the massage place nearby and had me a Thai massage with special focus on my back and shoulders for 1 hour. MMMMMMH.

...And to round it all off, some delicious Japanese food for dinner! Salmon roe and salmon on rice with shredded omelet (the picture is the closest thing I could find, ignore the sea urchin roe)

AHHH IT WAS ALL GOOOOOOOOOOOOD :D :D :D

happy happy joy joy, rl, glee, food, and the world's my oyster, my life as an intern, pics, shenanigans!
