All your wounds are full of salt

Hey, folks, how is life? Mine is great! I just keep feeling better and better. Except for the one incident this morning in which Naseem (my cousin) and I got up at 5:30 to go do my Moon observation and it was cloudy. We have to get up and do them early because at night, the moon is too far away from the meridian (imaginary line running from the north celestial pole to the south celestial pole) to estimate a good measurement. So, other than the fact that I got up and 5:30, then couldn't fall back to sleep, life is spectacular! Speaking of spectacular, that's a great adjective for my romantic entanglement. We spent last evening together and I had such a great time.

Speaking of great times, the public bus system is so fun! One incident: A guy got sick or something on the bus and got off at the next stop. The driver wouldn’t leave, so he called someone on his cell phone. He backed up the bus and pulled it onto the sidewalk! Then, a state trooper came. After a couple minutes, a fire truck came. Then, an ambulance came. We were told the guy was just queasy, but that's pretty doubtful! I can't, nor do I want to, imagine the bill he's getting for that. It was quite an experience. Another incident: As we were on 35W on Tuesday going into the city, a cop was trying to pull this car over. The car wouldn’t pull over, but wasn’t moving too quickly (as in not speeding; in fact, the car was in the slow lane). Then, a second cop car joined in the attempt to pull the car over. As the third cop car was just joining the posse, the car pulls over. One cop jumps out of his car and trains his gun on the car. Then this middle-aged looking woman, on her way to work, peers out the door to see a cop aiming his gun right at her skull. I don’t know if she had her music blaring and doesn’t check her rear-view mirror or if she was a criminal, but it was hilarious to see her face! Another time, a woman passed out on the bus and the driver just parked the bus at the stop we were at and called the dispatcher, trying to figure out what he should do. Everyone ended getting off the bus at the one stop because they couldn’t know how long the bus would be there. Apparently, none of us could afford to be late. Now that I think about it, that was the last day that I saw that driver...that’s really too bad. He was probably the coolest driver I’ve had yet. I love the bus system!

So...does anyone care about school? I just wrote a paper for Rock I about how "music is created in an attempt to extract some emotion from listeners." It was pretty good. The first week or so, I was completely overwhelmed by the workload, but now I feel like I'm back in grade school at carnival night doing the cakewalk. So, clearly, I have time to be bored. I don't think that should be possible. I have to go to the financial aid office and figure out what I am supposed to do for work-study. I haven't gotten an e-mail or anything about it. I really need a job. It's not so much that I need money, I just need something to do. Maybe I should just drive around wasting gas. On second thought, that's a terrible idea. Just terrible.

I'm going to have to cut this short here, so why don't you all leave me comments with fantastic stories? Your stories don't have to be about public buses. Only mine do.
