Yay! I got my French family and I'm excited about meeting them. There are 2 kids who live there almost the whole time, they're the mom's kids. The boy, Maxens, is 9 and the girl, Annie-Philippine, is 8. The dad's kids come every other weekend - he has a 10-year-old son, Guillaume, and a 7-year-old daughter, Anne-Charlotte. They have a cairn terrier named Tara. I'm excited that I got exactly what I wanted; I didn't figure I'd get young kids and a dog. Oh, and she (the mom) says they live 10 minutes from Lyon center.
Now I have to think of what I want to bring for them. Our guests usually bring food or wine but it seems ridiculous to bring food or wine to France from here. Besides, cheesesteaks aren't particularly refined nor do they travel well... I think it'll be easier for the kids since kids everywhere seem to appreciate the same things.
Also I finished Harry Potter and must agree with Vanessa that it's a great book. I'm anxious to find out what happens next. I'd really like to see where he and his friends end up in 10 years, hopefully Rowling will either make an epilogue or an 8th book detailing that.
