I thought our neighbors were cool and all. Their little garden is doing great plus they have made friends with more decorative weeds.
Then I see the bushes they got for their yard. Oleander. That fucking shit planted over half of So. California that people think is great because it doesn't need much water and is practically insect resistant. Why is it so resistant? "Cause that SHIT is fucking poison! Horses colic on it; some people get rashes being around it. Most animals get very sick after eating it or getting any of the juice on them. I can't imagine what it would do to curious animals like Goats or chickens.
I hate the shit. I can't have Bees if this is around as the honey will be unfit to eat! ARGH! Tomorrow if I see them I will ask where they are going to put this shit so I can block as much of it as possible from the goats. Yes if it taste nasty the goats won't eat it but that doesn't do me any good in having Bees eventually. Why do we sell this shit still? I'd love to see some science on how bad it is having oleander around rural areas but what can you do?
I have half a mind, once it is planted to dig it up and dump it someplace. Like in a trashcan!
