So after filling in all at work about my adventure on the bikes @ the testing center, I let Rose know what happened. So she noted that we did spend lots of time getting the upper body ready with not enough attention to the legs. We will be correcting that while I spend my time doing whole body on Fridays.
Right now, I am sore from walking on the stairmaster first at level 1 then the last 4 mins at lvl 2. Ouch. It was only 10 mins but it might as well have been 10 hours. Gotta make sure I get my potassium in today so no charlie horses wake me up tonight.
Speaking of since they recommend you give yourself 24-48 hrs of rest in between fresh sections, I will only be abusing my upper body tomorrow after I hit the stables for a bit. By now those two mares should have given birth. Babies!
I'm still kicking around in my head about a second horse but still I'm iffy on what type/style of horse to match a multi-disiplinary lifestyle. I have my mind set on gaited so I can have an easier ride. But which breed of gaited? Morgans? Too hot. TWH? No way even hotter! Saddlebred? Maybe but not off the track unless he is already well broke. Paso Fino? $$$$ ass horse. Icelandic? Kinda small maybe not really the best long distance trail horse. Norwegian Fjord? Hmmmmmm...possibly. Peruvian Paso? Too hot me thinks but I don't know enough about them. Missouri Fox Trotter? Possibly again but another $$$ horse. Anyway, that is just a few breeds so far.
As for Kelly...she is going back to a professional trainer to teach her/me how to be a team on the trail. I just need to wait until the truck is nearly paid off and the CC down about $1,000 before I do so. I figure a couple of months of solid work should make her the best trail horse. This also might mean moving her temporaily but she could come back afterwards. And I can go back to riding her 3x a week for about an hour in various directions.
Sound like a plan? I thought so :)
