crime scene investigator or nothing.
10pm: Coming home from FANTASTICS practice at Trisha's house, Ryan made a right, and was going to make a left onto Lucretia from Phelan, but then the bend in the road in front of us leading to YB's back teacher's parking lot, we saw a fire. At first, Ryan and I thought the creek was on fire again. As we got closer, at the tip of the bend, there was a car on fire. Kind of ironic how Ryan was jokingly wishing we got into an accident. Ryan came up to it but kinda off to the side. About 30 ft away but could still feel the heat.
*pulling up to the curb
Ryan: "Should we call 911?"
me: "Go for it, I'm pretty sure it's probably been reported already though."
Ryan: "K. What're you-" It was at that time I hopped out of his car while still in motion and jogged towards the wreck.
It was that specific moment, in my head, "I want to do this, I want to find out who's responsible."
Circling around to the opposite end of the street, I noticed there were no skid marks in the road, so it wasn't a matter of losing control and crashing, not to rule out brake and steering failure though. The driver's side door was open, with no one occupying the seat luckily, if it were a crash situation, who has the presence of mind to open the door and hop out? No trails of fire leading away from the wreck, so I'm thinking there was no use of accelerant, unless whatever drops there were just didn't catch fire. Car was too far into the trees to geta good look of the front of the car, whether it was affected at all from an impact or if the fire just started there.
Got too hot to inspect the passenger side and back seat, by then, I've done enough running around for Ryan to get worried and start yelling at me to come back.
Back in the car, I realized Ryan was spooked by the situation.
Ryan: "Thought the car was gonna explode and shit"
Me: "Naw, fire that big, if the gas tank hadn't gone already, it's not going to."
Ryan: "Kinda concerned for your safety for a second there"
Me: "Aw, how sweet, I got it though."
Ryan: "Sure thing CSI."
O'Neil's helping me out on the grade issue, time to work harder. More later.
