Last weekend, when it was 60 and gorgeous, Fred and I raked the yard of most of the oak leaves and twigs that had fallen in late autumn and throughout the winter. It was lovely seeing the brown and dead things cleared away to make room for new green things. We even saw the tulips on the south starting to poke through (hopefully they won't get nipped -- we've been below freezing all day, though, so I'm a bit concerned).
Today, I was in the grocery store, and the racks of seeds were calling to me. I would really like to get the garden and flower beds started before I leave for Utah. I'll be planning, but here's what I got:
Primrose (Ozark Sundrops)
Lupine (Dwarf Mixed)
Lupine (Blue)
Bellflower (Peachleaf)
Balloon flower (Rose)
Viola
"Old-fashioned garden mixture"
Lamb's Ears
True Lavender (AAAaaahhh!)
Munstead Lavender
English Thyme
Cilantro (Longstanding)
Sweet Basil
Spearmint
Peppermint
Lettuce (Black seeded Simpson)
Spinach (Olympia Hybrid)
Cucumber (Straight Eight)
Pumpkin (Lumina - they're white!)
Gourds (Large & Small annuals)
