Oddness

I am supposed to have an audition in Indianola for Des Moines Metro Opera this afternoon. I cancelled. I have had a sore throat since Friday, but was optimistic that it would be better by today. After I awoke this morning to the bed breaking (no joke), I soon realized that the cords were too swollen to phonate well enough to sing a good audition. I'm not terribly hoarse, but enough so to prevent good singing. So I called and canceled.

Not that I mind not driving 9 hours round trip today. In subzero temperatures. Yuck.
