A little background...
ZipCar is this nifty rent-by-the-hour car rental service here in the Boston area. It's great if you're (a) urban and (b) need a car from time to time.
Apparently, there's a camera-lens rental service called
www.ziplens.com. Why the happy?
Well, I have been wondering, _if_ I can afford to buy a basic but good digitial SLR camera (Canon XSi and its ilk being the current lead candidates) before travelling to Alaska in August 2009, then how could I afford to take long telephoto and/or panorama shots without having another $2000 for the extra lenses?
Well, if Ziplens is still around then, I'll be able to rent them for the couple of weeks in which I'll be gone! So I could have a chance to take glorious panoramic shots of glacial morains or close-ups of whales and whatnot.
So I have to save more. But at least it could be in reach. Very cool.
