The Past Week

I have successfully reached 40,000 words in the novel I'm writing! Of course, I'm not even close to halfway finished or anything, but I did manage to introduce one of my major characters. It literally had me dancing around my house. I have this perfectionist tendency while writing though--while writing, I'm afraid it's not good enough, and then I'll go back and edit little tidbits. Ugh, I have to keep reminding myself that it's the first draft and I can revise afterwards. Create first, then make amends later so that it doesn't come out like crap.

Anyway, I had an interesting first week back. My friend came over for a sleepover, then I slept over at my other friend's house. I saw my boyfriend, which was great, because I haven't seen him in two weeks, and I think we had a great time. Well, we did have a fight yesterday, but thankfully that's over. I won't go into details because I don't exactly want something so personal on the internet, but it's all good now, so no worries.

I haven't gotten to do any driving since my grandparents' house because our property is no where near as large, and I can only drive on private property until I get a permit. My brother also got obsessed with this Avatar show. It's pretty good I guess, but since I'm writing a fantasy story, I have to be extra careful and make sure nothing fantastical influences my writing. I do like some of the characters (*cough* Sokka and Zuko *cough*) and I caught the finale of the show. Katara and Aang kissing = very predictable, so predictable I didn't think it would happen, but whatever. I'm not a hardcore fan, it was just an observation.

I finished Pride and Prejudice! The tension between Elizabeth and Darcy was just addicting to read about, but really...no kiss? Whatever, if I want that, I can watch the movie. It was a very satisfactory read, though, and I think it made up for the IQ points I might have lost while reading the Twilight series. Hm, what else have I been doing lately? Oh yes! I learned (somewhat) how to use Garage Band. I think I'll be experimenting with it pretty often now, even if I'm not the best song writer.

Well, see you!
