Okay, so my weekends and weeks have been really good lately! The weekend of Field Day it turned out that Maggie's dad changed his mind, and that he was okay with me spending the night at their house on Saturday. So on Saturday, I spent the night at Maggie's. While there, her neighborhood has a neighborhood pool so we went swimming as soon as I got to her house. We then returned to her house, after walking around her neighborhood and stuff, and watched an anime movie called, The Girl Who Lept Through Time. It was really good too! In fact, I consider it my second favorite anime movies over all of the anime movies that I've watched when I've been at Maggie's house. Cat Returns just can't be beat, to me, at least...
So, we mostly swam and just watched movies, talked, and chilled at Maggie's house. We were both able to defeat the heartless in our Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days games so we were both excited about that as well. Other than that, the rest of that weekend, as far as I can remember, wasn't really that exciting for me.
Then, there was this past week. In my Public Speaking class, we worked on practicing our Public Speaking speeches for our Final Exam. I had mine memorized by Thursday, and we where to do our speeches on the following Monday, so I was good with that. It's weird too, because everytime I'd go up and say the speech to everyone, I was calm. I wasn't how I acted my other speeches: I didn't stutter, I didn't say ummm, and I had perfect eye contact with everyone in the audience. I was very confidient about this speech. I even practiced with this speech in front of my mom, who said I did an excillent job.
Most of last week, though, wasn't that exciting. I got my yearbook on Wednesday, and have gotten some of my friends to sign it, and am working on getting more and more people to sign it.
Then on Friday, I had my EOC for the class that I really dread the most: Social Studies. The reason why I've been dreading my Social Studies class EOC is because our School District comes up with our EOC for the class. It's an EOC that not only Advanced Students take, but the AP kids, and the basic level students have to take, and it's the same one for all grade levels. And according to my Social Studies teacher, it's harder to pass than the AP Exams. As if my grade in that class can't get bad enough, this exam is 20% of my grade, and let me just say, it was HARD! The District has come up with some of the tests that we've had to take in history this year, and let me tell you, those tests, I've failed miserably. I've gotten terrible grades on those tests, and I don't think I've done so terrible on tests since Elementary School. So, I guess I'm screwed for US History? I guess I'll see when I find out how I did on that exam. But there is a little, tiny bit of good news to my Social Studies crisis, and it is that on Tuesday, we will be taking a Benchmark Test, and my Social Studies teacher is allowed to give this Benchmark however he likes, and he's decided that he's going to put us into group of four, and that using our notes, each other, and our history books, we can work on this test and then, turn it in. He's doing this in the hope that it'll bring our grades up after that Exam, and I so hope it brings my grade up, whatever it may be...
In other news, I have a feeling that my friend Trenton MIGHT, just might, have a crush on me. Want to know why? Well... his birthday was on Wednesday and on Saturday, he invited me to his party to celebrate his birthday. This is the second time that he's invited me to hang with him outside school this year, and it seems to me that he didn't invite anyone else in my Public Speaking class to his party. I didn't go, because on Saturday, the State Finals Irmo soccer game was on Saturday, and I really REALLY wanted to go to that, and because I'd missed a soccer game last Saturday because I spent the night at Maggie's house, I decided to go to the game with mum instead of going to Trenton's party. That, and according to Trenton, I wouldn't have been home from his party until 1 am.
The State Finals game was good, despite all the bullshit calls the ref called on my team. One of our players had been kicked in the face, and the refs called it on the player on my team that had been kicked in the face. Such bullshit, and just like last years game all over again. The most bullshit game, once again, I have ever seen in my life. The other team played dirty, and when my team tried to play dirty, the refs kept blowing the whistle at them, and giving the ball to the other team. Some things just don't change....
And today, which is Monday, we gave our Exam speech in Public Speaking class. All I can say about that, was that I still had the speech memorized, and that I went up to give the speech and did a pretty good job. The fact that I got a 98 on that speech just made today, an already good day, even better for me! Ready for tomorrow, and possibly whatever (if any) exams I might have tomorrow.
