i struggled with this, i admit it, Hyla had asked me to do an interview once before i and i told her i needed more time, i discussed how to handle the interview with alot of people.
Frankly i knew i had to address mental illness, specifically my mental illness, or i would not be giving an accurate picture of how important art is to my life... Some felt that talking about it is being to open, that i leave my self up to get burned
Well been there done that, several times, and i think i have proved to the people who have burned me in the past, you can say alot of things about me, but you cannot say that i am incapable or unworthy due to my mental illness~ its just not true, mental illness is not a crime, if i had cancer, it would not be acceptable to say that i was not able to do something, because i had to take medication for the cancer, i would not be the butt of your jokes. OH, well its just adi, you know she's got CANCER~ Ask yourself why its okay to say, oh well, its just adi, she's crazy.....
i have said it before and i will say it again, and again, until the end of my time here on earth,
if you do not talk about something, it is the same as condoning it, if i hide my bi-polar, i am saying that there is something WRONG with having it. The only thing that is wrong, is that mental illness exisits, that cancers, aids, horrible illnesses exist and people are judged on the status of their illnesses, not on who they are.
