What did I do during the year 2012? Well, nothing much.

The end of the year meme because why not and I have time to kill.

1. What did you do in 2012 that you'd never done before?
Hm, could not say. Either I've already done everything or I had a very boring year.

2. Did you keep your New Years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I never make New Years' resolutions. I'm rubbish at keeping them anyway.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
My cousin! I just met the new family member via Skype the other day! She's most cute and fat.

4. Did anyone close to you die?
No, not this year, thankfully.

5. What countries did you visit?
Finland, several times.

6. What would you like to have in 2013 that you lacked in 2012?
I want to become more fit, go swimming and running more often and in general have more time for myself. As I'm also supposed to be writing my thesis we'll see if this'll happen or not.

7. What date from 2012 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
Date? No dates ever remain etched upon my memory. I have trouble remembering my own birthday ferfuksakes. Buuut there was the wedding of my cousin, the wedding of niidel and hui_lai_lee, being caught in the freakiest downpour ever right in the middle of Helsinki, I climbed a mountain (Esja)... that's about it I guess? We went to Tracon too and that trip was made of amazing-cakes, a great big thank yous go to dead_damien nd E&S for letting us crash at their places!

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Juggling my finances with success no doubt!

9. What was your biggest failure?
I chose exactly the wrong shoes for niidel and hui_lai_lee's wedding, I had a bad habit of speaking before thinking things through and I didn't do well in the grammar class.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
OMG those shoes, combined with lace stockings, rubbed me so many blisters that I want to cry to remember them! I've no idea what would have happened to me without the kind help o lucilla_1789 nd her stash of plasters. Just so you know, I'll be eternally grateful.
Er, actual answer is no, I can't remember having any serious trouble with my health this year.

11. What was the best thing you bought?
Flights tickets, a dress I had been dreaming about for years, awesome book with less-known Icelandic sagas in it.

12. Whose behaviour merited celebration?
To be honest this question's a bit patronizing-sounding...

13. Whose behaviour made you appalled and depressed?
...this one isn't much better.

14. Where did most of your money go?
Food, uni books, flight tickets.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
The weddings, our new sofa (OMG you guys haven't seen it yet, I'll have to take a photo - it's HUGE and soft and soooooo comfy!), the medieval literature class and a sekrit sekrit I'll not talk about yet.

16. What song will always remind you of 2012?
Hmm. Whipped Cream by Ludo, Have You Seen My Sister Evelyn by Evelyn Evelyn, Life on Mars? by David Bowie.

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
i. happier or sadder? More or less the same
ii. thinner or fatter? Faaatttterrrrrr!
iii. richer or poorer? The same.

18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Got more sleep.

19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Worrying, but idk if I can even get away from worrying, it's my default setting of sorts.

20. How will you be spending Christmas?
Doing absolutely nothing of importance!

21. How will you be spending New Year’s Eve?
Hopefully the same, except with more explosions.

22. Did you fall in love in 2012?
I found out about Ludo does that count?

23. How many one-night stands?
None.

24. What was your favourite TV program?
I still don't watch television so idk.

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
I don't have the patience to keep up a hate sry.

26. What was the best book you read?
That book of sagas! Oh yeah! Also The Hundred-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out of the Window And Disappeared by Jonas Jonasson.

27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
It's not Ludo, sry, but I re-found my love for David Bowie and those weeks of non-stop davidbowieing won't leave my memory for a long time..

28. What did you want and get?
I wanted to pass my classes. :D

29.What did you want and not get?
I wanted to sleep more.

30. What was your favourite film that you saw for the first time this year?
I didn't see that many films and replying this with Spiderman would feel a bit silly so.

31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
I have no idea but I'm probably 33 or 34.

32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Sleeping, paying attention to details.

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2012?
Hurngh it's cold outside so I'll just wear this huge sweater over my nicely chosen outfit.

34. What kept you sane?
I had such a boring year I never came close to losing it so... boredom. :S

35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
Errrrrrrnoonedavidbowiemaybeshhh.

36. What political issue stirred you the most?
Elections back home and in the States, probably. Those two only by default because they were on every news I was reading. Does following the sheep rescue by Icelandic Rescue Units count?

37. Who did you miss?
My family and friends, as cliche as that answer sounds like.

38. Who was the best new person you met?
I can't choose!

39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2012.
Shut up and stop worrying about it or you'll feel massively stupid afterwards when everything went better than expected.

40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year.

Come Josephine in my flying machine,
Going up she goes! Up she goes!
Balance yourself like a bird on a beam
In the air she goes! There she goes!
Up, up, a little bit higher
Oh! My! The moon is on fire
Come Josephine in my flying machine
Going up, all on, Goodbye!
