I'm losing faith in the majority of anarchists in the world (That I have come into contact with, anyways.) They're all obviously happy about their beliefs, and they seem to know what they're talking about (In some cases), but what I find disturbing is the way some of these "anarchists" would have the world work in practice, rather than in theory.
Example: Www.Nationstates.net
That website is a place for you to create your own "nation", set up it's government, national motto, national animal, etc. I'm quite happy with my little Liberty haven; "Income tax is unheard of", says the description. That's good. Additionally, I make sure to keep the government as small as possible, if really there at all. This isn't formally mentioned in the description, but as i've been RPing it there are a number of armed protection companies to hire to protect you, if you don't feel like protecting yourself; Additionally, certain companies that sell guns have gotten into actively pursuing larger types of weaponry specifically to protect the country from outside forces.
However..I've taken a look at other countries made by "anarchists", and I am completely dissappinted by about 90-95% of them. Somehow, they've managed to fit in a ridiculously high income tax rate.
100%, to be exact. Last I checked, 100% income tax implies alot of government presence. Sure, you can go running about defacing walls or whatever, but if you can't even freely make any money without the government taking it all from you, how the hell are you living in anarchy? I don't want the government taking my money any more than I want it taking my right to free speech. Why the fuck even work? Why not just steal everything you need to live and let someone else work for it? (Not that they'll have anything anyways, since the government will have all their money.)
While i'm at it, I have a bone to pick with something else, as well. Certain people (I wont name names) who don't think an employer has the right to fire their employees.
Example:
Man hires employee. Man suddenly has a change of heart, becomes a bitter racist. Man fires employee for being black. Right or wrong?
wrong, obviously. Should the government allow it?
YES! It is the employer's business, the employer can fire the employee for any reason s/he wants. If you disagree, then i'm afraid i'll have to say that your opinion is wrong.
OMG THAT IS IGNORANT! OMG OMG OMG OMG HOW CAN U SAY 'UR OPINION IS WRONG'? OMG OMG OMG.
But wait, there's more!
If a store or restaurant doesn't want to serve black/asian/white/whatever the fuck you are people, they don't have to!
But there are exceptions..
Any service of any kind provided by the government or anything funded by the government and the taxes taken from out paychecks should not be denied to anyone for any reason as long as those services can be paid for by the person demanding them. If they're a free service, paid for by taxes (Public schools, for example), they should be open (but NOT mandatory for anyone) to everyone.
Summary
1) 100% income tax is NOT anarchy.
2) If I open a business, I can fire anyone for any reason or deny service to anyone for any reason (EVEN simply because of their skin color)
3) If I pay taxes that pay for a service to be offered to the public, nobody should be denied the right to take advantage of that service. If It is paid for by our taxes, it is for anyone who wants them. Government should not be prejudiced; The individual can be.
