Simply put, Bloodborne: The Old Hunters is the best piece of "Souls" content that I've ever played. The bosses are hard, complex, and damn satisfying. The world morphing for the DLC is filled with new enemies and incredible new art that stands out among any Souls material. The Nightmare is so twisted and the old hunters are so beastly that it really felt like I was playing Bloodborne plus.
The thing that really pushed this content above for me (other than the incredible boss battles that are better than any in the base game) was the story. We got a to learn alot about how the Healing Church handled their encounters with the Old Ones and brought closure to the Bloodborne lore in a way that felt extremely satisfying to me. The new weapons were also a great addition. I just wish they were accessible earlier in the game, as playing through most of the game before encountering them is a bit of a bummer.
Really, Bloodborne has the perfect battle system for me and I find myself coming back to it over and over again and "The Old Hunters" provided a sizeable chunk of content, with some of the best battles throughout any of the Souls games. Cheers, From Software. Thanks for always reminding me of why I play games.
