So, hanging out with friends today, I look out the window of their car and see...
Horses.
Three, very large, horses, running down the main road in Primitive.
Well, Me being Me, I jump out of the car and follow where I saw horses.
Standing next to the site manager's front drive, I see the three horses headed back up a very muddy trail. Site manager's daughter comes running out because of the noise.
The horses ended up going into their backyard, one young one mock-chargeing the dog and generally causeing little spats.
Those of us who were trying to contain them got creative with the waterhose and some rope wile waiting to see if we could contact the horsekeepers.
I must say, I got a guilty pleasure out of the whole situation. I haven't been around horses in awhile, but it seems they are one of the animals that I get along with fairly well. The one horse kept trying to be a shit, the other two were just a little skiddish of the deep soft mud and unfamiler location.
But we was able to get them to listen fairly well. I spent half the time we waited walking among them. Everysingle on would easliy sniff my forehead. But a few smacks on pushy noses and the occassional peice of carrot, and they listened fairly well.
We waited for awhile until some other people showed up. They weren't those horses handlers, but knew where they were supposed to go. They also brought makeshift leads, which helped. I got to lead one of them back, which was fun, and they handlars showed up about the time we locked the stall doors.
I want to go riding again.. I love just being around horses..
