First let me say that Jon Singer is my hero with his great big fuck you to everyone he has pissed off this year. I have to say I wholeheartedly agree. If I apologize to someone and they turn around and try to pander it into something larger than itself that deserves a big write off.
You know what pisses me off even more? When I tell someone the TRUTH and then they get pissed because the truth isnt what they wanted to hear. Arent friends supposed to tell each other the truth? I mean if one of my friends thought I was walking around acting like a complete idiot, or making a decision that would mess up my life I'd want them to tell me. I might disagree but I would still appreciate the fact that they care enough to give me a reality check - harsh though it may be. So here is the official warning I will start putting on my fictitious friendship application packets.
Warning: dont ask for my opinion if you cant handle it. I WILL tell you the truth. Seriously. So if you just want someone to bullshit you or coddle you I can tell you right now we wont be friends for long. Life is too short to lie to anyone, let alone your friends. Build up some self confidence, resilience, insight, and flexibility and reapply when you've matured. Ill see where I can fit you in.
