Describe where you grew up.

My sister has provided a great overview already of our beautiful city so I will try to stick to things she has not mentioned. Though Adira is right in saying that our city is truly a work of art. Even an untrained eye (i.e. not a professional artist) can admire its pleasant beauty.

The capitol boasts a huge starport just to the south of the city. Our position as a semi-outlying colony world makes our planet one of the trade hubs for goods coming into the Republic from the other races in the galaxy. As soon as you enter the city you can see this, the streets are lined with hundreds of shops (dotted among the museums, gardens and galleries my sister spoke of) with goods from nearly all of the known races.

The starport also serves as a thoroughfare for the reconnaissance division of the Centauri navy. Speaking of the Navy there is a Military training school and a fleet yard on the planet as well.

Now what did my sister forget on the house tour? Hmmm... We have managed to collect an expansive library. Most of the books relate to religion and art though there are a number of histories in the mix. The best room in the house is the sunroom or more officially the "West room". Everyone who visits is drawn to this room. It bears two walls and the ceiling of glass allowing the brilliant Davo sun to shine in most of the day. The beautiful, soft furniture, flowering plants and bar when added to the warm sunlight also makes this room the most common for people to fall asleep in. I know I have done it enough. I remember when Lady Deljah first arrived at our house; she raised high holy hell until the room was built. She declared the rest of the house was too dark and dreary for her and refused to live in such a dank cave of a place.

Adira also forgot her two favorite places, perhaps to avoid pestering. Well what good is an older brother if they give you a moment’s peace. In light of that I shall divulge her favorite spots. Out past the gardens we have a pasture and barn for our horses, six total and two ponies. Adira spent a lot of her childhood out there riding. Even now she runs off as soon as she has time to take a ride on “Calypso”. That mare is mad and only lets her near everyone else it tries to trample.

The other hide away is the “armory” as we call it. A practice room originally added for my training in Tronno and sword play as a young man. She and Isadora use to drive Adon and I crazy until we let them join in. She still convinces me to practice with her and every time I look like a fool. She’s a lot faster and stronger then she looks and I always underestimate her. You would think after all of these years I would know better.

I miss home a lot. As a commander now I spend nearly all of my time on ship. What I wouldn’t give to be back home with my family and daughter.
