Travel for Lyssie
Kailin had kept his promise. Once his duties were through he packed a few items in his Kutari and headed back to Earth at the appointed time. With the ship cloaked he landed at their meeting place and exited the ship to wait for Lyssie. It had been a long time since he'd traveled with anyone. Longer still since he'd had female company aboard his ship. As was the way with the Centauri rumors had already started about the mystery girl. He wondered if he should warn her of the way his people were but he assumed, rightly so, that none would dare say anything to offend their commander's guest. Formality often removed the need for many things this would be one of them.
As he waited he knew her quarters were being prepared. Though it was a military vessel he had time to acquire fine blue silks to outfit her bedchamber as well as some human food in case she didn't like the usual Centauri fare. It would be good to go home and see his mother and daughter. Perhaps Adira would be there as well. His mind wandered while he stood waiting but that was usual when he was given free time or when any Centauri was given free time for that matter.
