Kailin sat nervously on the shuttle that returned him to Minbar where his Lady was still waiting for his return. Things had not gone as planned at the Temple of Li on Davo but then they hadn’t gone poorly either. Kailin let out a long slow breath fingering the medallion around his neck. The silver heart was warm to the touch. Kailin gently held it in his hand smiling at his house crest engraved in the surface. The whole piece seemed to glitter.
Kailin let it fall and opened the sumptuous red box. The mate to the piece he wore was inside only its surface was etched with a rainbow and shooting star. Kailin hoped that this suited her. It wasn’t exactly what she hoped for but in Kailin’s mind it was better.
Once they ship exited the Jumpgate Kailin sent a message for her to meet him at the spaceport. He couldn’t wait to see her but at the same time he dreaded it with all his hearts. What was she going to say when he stepped off the ship and still appeared Centauri. He was still Centauri but that wasn’t an issue now.
He could only hope she gave him enough time to tell her. The last thing he wished was another argument. He just wanted to be at her side and for things to be right. Closing the box he tucked it in his jacket and smiled. He knew he could charm her and so he put on his best for the moment and set his worries aside.
Stepping off the landing platform he scoured the crowd for his Lady. He had been away for just over a week but it felt like a lifetime. Before anything else his first order of business was to hold her for just a moment. He missed the feeling of his arms wrapped around her.
