Iris appeared in the next room and stood in there for such a very long time. The house felt alien to her, almost like she no longer blonged there even though she owned it.

She stepped slowly from the dark room and stood in the doorway to the room Kailin stood in. Her face seemed pale and her eyes had lost that sparkle that used to dwell in them. "You called?" It was all she could say.

Kailin felt her there but he couldn't move. When she finally spoke he turned toward her and held out his hand with the ring sitting in the palm of his hand. His eyes were full of confusion and pain.

Her eyes met with his for a moment and she saw the pain and confusion in them, then her gaze shifted down to ring in his hand. Iris stayed silent what seemed like forever, "We're not working Kailin."

Kailin nodded and followed her gaze to the ring. It was a gift my lady. Please take it with you.

Iris slowly shook her head, "I can't. I have enough memories to haunt me. I do not nead such a beautiful ring to do the same."

Kailin set the ring aside and returned his focus to her eyes.

When did you decide you wished to leave?

Iris shrugged slowly, "I don't know, but does it really matter? Neither of us are happy, are we."

[kailin_tyree]

I can not say for you my lady but I have never been as happy as I have been with you. Kailin smiled faintly. I appologize if you have not shared my happiness while we have been together.

Iris shook her head, "You were happy with the idea of me, the idea of us. How could you be happy with someone you don't seem to want to spend time with." She looked down, "Being in love isn't enough to keep you with someone."

I have always been here in this house. I know you have said to call you but my lady shouldn't this work both ways? Shouldn't you come to see me too?

"I have Kailin, there are times I have tried to talk with you, or do things but..." Iris looked down, "They never happen. And you are not always here, you take Cellena out and you do not even ask if I wish to come with you."

[kailin_tyree]

I have tried as well. We were to go to Davo but you wished to stay for Snake's wedding.

Kailin sighed. I have nothing more to do. Most days it is Cellena and I here alone and the park we go to, you can see it from our garden. Iris, if you wished to go why wait so long to ask. We would go because we were bored waiting for you. This is not my home as I have told you in the past. I don't know what we can do together here.

"Wouldn't you have wanted to stay for it?"

"Kailin, I am here too, I don't usually go anywhere. I'm usually in the garden, sometimes on the beach but that is because you are out. Do you know how it feels to think a man who loves you doesn't actually desire your time." She frowned deeply, "This isn't my home either."

I would but if you wished to go I would have given him my congratulations before hand and left with you.

I am certain it feels no different then feeling the same about your lady. Iris, I shouldn't feel obligated to call you to my presence every time I wish your company or even a kiss. That is exactly what I feel that I have to request your presence and it is not given freely. This is supposed to be a home not the royal court. I shouldn't need to summon my family for thier time.

"Kailin, that was the second time we talked about going to Davo, the first time just got forgotten."

"No, you shouldn't, but then you don't just come to me either. Do you!" She looked away from him, "I'm not one of your women from Davo Kailin. I don't want to be trated like I am a princess. I want to be treated like a person, like I am wanted and needed. Damn it. I want you to fight with me. Do you even know how annoying it is that you never fight back."

You wish to lay that blame on me because I did not take us?

I am the one who initiates most of our conversations. I am the one who starts most of our intamacies. Yes, I am almost always the one who is coming to you.

Kailin frowned. I am a Centauri, my lady. I will not dishonor or disgrace the woman I love by raising my voice to her. If you have a problem with my hearts being so dedicated to treating you as the woman you are I can do nothing about it.

Kailin's voice remained controlled and calm the whole time.
