Okay, here's the lowdown on the parade in SF:
The parade will be held on Sunday starting at 1 p.m. It will start at Second and Market streets, go down Market, turn right at Eighth Street and go down Grove Street to the reviewing stand in front of City Hall.
Sunday's parade will feature military units from the Army, the Navy, the Marine Corps, the Air Force, the Coast Guard and the National Guard. It will be led by one of the world's largest American flags and the world's largest California state flag. There will be marching bands, color guards and drill teams. Two grand marshals will officiate in this year's parade: Jack Rosenbaum is a well-known writer and a World War II vet, and Joe Rosenthal is the Associated Press (and longtime Chronicle) photographer who took the world-famous photo of the flag-raising at Iwo Jima.
